The next Regular City Council Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday,  March 19, beginning at 7 p.m.  
  
The City Council conducted the following business on Tuesday, March 5:
  • Issued a Proclamation honoring resident Iris Sawyer on celebrating her 105th Birthday on March 1!
  • Adopted an Ordinance authorizing the City Manager to enter  into an Advance Funding Agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation for the Bandera and Grissom Road Traffic Signalization Improvement Project
  • Received an update on the City of Leon Valley Economic Development Activities
  • Received an update on the City of Leon Valley Special Projects
  • Received a report on the implementation plan for the Recycling Pilot Program at The Ridge Subdivision
  • Received a report on the progress of the Branding, Communications, and Festivals Subcommittees' Work

Regarding the subcommittees, the organizing and process definition work will be done before the volunteers can become involved.

Regular City Council Meetings are scheduled on the first and third Tuesdays of every month at 7 p.m.   

Please note that Special City Council Meetings can be scheduled for different days and beginning times. 

Official public notices and meeting agendas are posted on the City's Bulletin Boards outside the City Hall front doors at 6400 El Verde Road, at least 72 hours before the start of the meeting in accordance with the Texas  Open Meetings Act,  and are also posted on the City's website.  Click here for more information.

Leon Valley Farmer's Market Relocates to Parking Lot in front of and to the side of the Leon Valley Public Library along Alley Kinman
The Farmer's Market is being temporarily relocated due to the site prep work at the Leon Valley Public Library for the Children's Wing Expansion. 
  
The Farmer's Market locates on the parking lot on Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.  We encourage you to shop Leon Valley Fresh; shop the Farmer's Market first!  If you can't find what you need there, visit any of our fine grocery stores!
  
Help us improve our local economy!  Shop Leon Valley first!
  
Forest Oaks Garden Club  
The Garden Club Meeting in March happens on Wednesday, March 13 at the Leon Valley Public Library at 1 p.m.  All are welcome & invited to attend.  The March 13 meeting will not feature a speaker.

Spring Clean-up Days:  Monday, March 11 is the first day you can set out your items to the curb for the City's Spring Clean-up , March 11 through March 17. The actual collection of items will occur the weeks of March 18-22 & March 25-29. 

  

  
 
Spring Forward!  Hardly seems like any time has passed since we moved the clock hands back.  But daylight saving time begins Sunday morning at 2 a.m.  Set the clock hands or numbers forward by one hour.  Some electronic devices like cellular phones and computers will automatically re-set.
  
NeighborWoods Program Information
For information about the City's adopted NeighborWoods Program, call Community Development Director Kristie Flores at 210-684-1391, Extension 227. 
  
T'ai Chi Chih: 
Saturday mornings at 8 a.m., join us at the Leon Valley Public Library for T'ai Chi Chih:  Joy Through Movement.
  
T'ai Chi Chih is an easy to learn set of movements focused on the development of an intrinsic energy called "Chi."  It does not require a particular level of physical fitness or coordination.  People of all ages can learn it.
T'ai Chi Chih  meets rain or shine, all year around.
