Leon Valley Public Library Children's Wing Expansion Groundbreaking Ceremony!

After years of hard work, hundreds of volunteer hours, and a collaborative partnership by the Friends of the Public Library, the City of Leon Valley Public Library, and the City of Leon Valley, the Leon Valley Public Chidlren's Wing will become a reality!

On Tuesday evening, February 19, 2013, the Leon Valley Mayor and City Council undertook a momentous decision by adopting an ordinance authorizing the City Manager to enter into a contract with Crownhill Builders, Inc., for the expansion of the Leon Valley Children's Wing.  The funding required to make this dream a reality came together as the result of the City Council's vote to authorize a total expenditure of $543,000 resulting from a collaborative partnership with the Friends of the Public Library, the City of Leon Valley Public Library and the City of Leon Valley, to pay for construction and administrative costs which will ensure access and education to future generations of Leon Valley's children.

We invite you to join us on Saturday for the groundbreaking ceremony!
