Merry Christmas
& Happy New Year! |
|
Dear (Contact First Name),
Just a reminder that City Offices will be closed for the Christmas Holidays on Monday, December 24, and Tuesday, December 25.
City Offices will also be closed on Tuesday, January 1 for the New Year Holiday. This means the City Council Meeting that would normally occur on Tuesday, January 1st has been moved to Tuesday, January 8th.
At the December 18 City Council Meeting, the City Council undertook the following important business matters:
- Authorized the expenditure of funds from the City's CIED Fund totaling $916,000 for projects designed to enhance the City's main business corridors, to set aside a contribution to the City's Library Children's Wing Expansion, and for meeting the City's cash match commitment at 20 percent for a Hike and Bike Trail Grant.
- Conducted the second of two required public hearings and readings of a Resolution approving a Leon Valley Economic Development Corporation Project funding up to $10,000 in a grant and up to $37,500 in a loan to a business seeking to re-locate to the City of Leon Valley offering a healthy and unique concept of Mexican bakery goods and services.
- Approved a contract with OCO Architects related to the Municipal Facilities Capital Improvement Project as authorized in the 2012 Municipal Bond Election.
- Authorized the City Manager to execute a contract with the City's current waste vendor, Waste Management of Texas, Inc.
- Discussed an agenda and related matters for the January 26, 2013 Town Hall Meeting.
Plan now to join Mayor Chris Riley on her next Walk with the Mayor, Saturday, January 5 at 8:30 a.m.
This is a regularly scheduled event for our Mayor to allow citizens to have time to visit with her in a more relaxed setting than at City Council Meetings.
