City Offices will be closed for the Christmas Holidays on Monday, December 24, and Tuesday, December 25. City Offices will also be closed on Tuesday, January 1 for the New Year Holiday. We hope you will enjoy the holidays in a safe manner.
The next Regular City Council Meeting is on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at 7 p.m.
The City Council will be considering a number of important business matters at the meeting, including but not limited to:
- Action on an Ordinance Approving a Budget for a defined list of projects from the CIED Fund totaling $916,000 for projects related to the City's main business corridors for clean-up and enhancement, the City's Library Children's Wing Expansion, and a 20 percent cash match towards a commitment for a Hike and Bike Trail Grant.
- The second of two required public hearings and readings before the City Council and a Resolution to approve a Leon Valley Economic Development Corporation Project funding up to $10,000 in a grant and up to $37,500 in a loan to a business seeking to re-locate to the City of Leon Valley offering a healthy and unique concept of Mexican bakery goods and services.
- The approval of a professional services contract with OCO Architects related to the Municipal Facilities Capital Improvement Project as authorized in the 2012 Municipal Bond Election.
- Authorizing the City Manager to execute a contract with the City's current waste vendor, Waste Management of Texas, Inc.
- Discussing and determining details for the January 26, 2013 Town Hall Meeting.

Leon Valley City Council Meetings Regular City Council Meetings are scheduled on the first and third Tuesdays of every month at 7 p.m.
Please note that Special City Council Meetings can be scheduled for different days and beginning times.

Out and About the Neighborhood Shop Leon Valley first, and contribute to our local economy! As you plan your upcoming holiday meals, and review your receipes, remember to shop first and buy fresh at the Leon Valley Farmer's Market. The Leon Valley Farmer's Market locates on the parking lot next to the Leon Valley Public Library on Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Help us meet our goal of becoming El Verde by 2020, plant trees now! T'ai Chi Chih: Saturday mornings at 8 a.m., join us at the Leon Valley Public Library for T'ai Chi Chih: Joy Through Movement.
T'ai Chi Chih is an easy to learn set of movements focused on the development of an intrinsic energy called "Chi." It does not require a particular level of physical fitness or coordination. People of all ages can learn it.
