Get your copy of the 2016 Salary and Benefits Survey report

Attracting the right talent to your business can be challenging particularly if you don't have information about the latest salary and benefits trends in your industry sector. Look no further.
The 2016 Chamber of Commerce Salary and Benefits Survey is now available.
The survey, conducted by Krys Global, includes information reported by 138 businesses. "This is the fifth survey to be conducted since 1998," said Chamber CEO Wil Pineau, CCE. "The objective in conducting the survey is to provide the business community with reliable and timely salary and benefits information across all of the major industries in the Cayman Islands. The survey is one of the largest ever conducted to measure private sector salary and benefits practices."
Specific areas addressed in the survey include: salary, bonus, vacation, allowances, benefits, pay administration practices and a breakdown of the employee base between Caymanians and expatriates.
Survey information is reported on 182 benchmark positions covering accounting and finance, management, technical, professional service and non-profit functions.

Warning: Renew your T&B on time to avoid new fines and penalties
|

The new Trade and Business Licensing Law is now in effect and it introduces some serious fines and penalties that members should be aware of.
The law includes new forms, timeframes for renewal applications, additional document requirements, penalties for late filing, tickets and fines and surcharges. If you are renewing your licence, you must submit your application prior to its expiry. The timeframe to submit renewal applications is between three months and 28 days, prior to the expiry of the licence. The Department of Commerce and Investment administers the law and plans to enforce penalties for late applications so please be sure to file prior to the deadline to avoid the late filing penalty. Licence holders who do not pay the renewal fee within 28 days after the expiry date will pay a surcharge not exceeding 25% of the renewal fee for every month, or part of a month, that the renewal is not paid. Persons who breach their business licence requirements in Cayman will be subject to receiving tickets and paying fines. DCI has been given greater enforcement responsibilities. For further information about the changes to the law, visit the DCI website at www.dci.gov.ky or call 945-0943.
