 Council confers honorary membership to Cardinall DaCosta The Chamber Council has conferred honorary membership to Cardinall DaCosta, one of 10 Chamber founding members. President Barry Bodden presented Mr. DaCosta with the honour at his 80th birthday celebration at the Marriott Resort on 31st March.

Minister Tibbetts to unveil GT revitalization plans
The Hon. D. Kurt Tibbetts, OBE, JP, will unveil the proposed plans to revitalize George Town at a membership luncheon at the Wharf Restaurant on Thursday, 30th April.
He also plans to discuss the Builders Bill and other legislation to regulate the construction industry. Members will be able to review the plans and to ask questions following the presentation.
The Chamber Council has been as strong advocate for revitalizing George Town and submitted a list of recommendations for consideration last year. Seating is limited for the luncheon so be sure to register early.

Last chance to participate in 2015 Salary and Benefits Survey
|
 April 30th is the deadline to participate in the Chamber's 5th Salary and Benefits Survey. The survey is the most comprehensive compensation survey conducted in the Cayman Islands across all industry sectors. The specific topics addressed in the survey include: salary, bonus, vacation, allowances and benefits. There is no charge to participate. Chamber member KRyS Global has been commissioned conduct and compile the survey results. To participate in the survey click here. All information submitted is confidential. The last survey was conducted in 2007 and consolidated detailed information in a 350-page report on more than 150 benchmark positions as submitted by more than 130 businesses. Can you spare 15 minutes of your time to complete a survey that will produce useful information about salary and benefits across all industry sector that can be accessed by your business?

 Member information session planned for 9th April Are you taking full advantage for your Chamber membership? You are invited to attend a free lunch at our offices in Governors Square on Thursday, 9th April at 12:30. You will be able to network with other members and learn how you can get involved so that you are receiving as many Chamber benefits as possible.  Volunteers needed for Earth Day cleanup The Chamber's annual Earth Day Roadside and Beach Cleanup takes place on Saturday, 18th April. Members are encouraged to organise cleanup teams. Let's make this year's cleanup the largest ever. Teams that register early will receive special Chamber 50th anniversary t-shirts, hats and water bottles and will be given tickets to attend a free brunch after the cleanup.

 EU small business grant scheme to be launched Representatives from the Boosting Caribbean OCT Enterprises (COSME) initiative for small to medium sized enterprises (SMEs) visited the Cayman Islands recently and met with small business owners in the Chamber of Commerce conference room to provide information to local businesses and business support organisations (BSOs) interested in applying for the direct assistance grants.  Leadership Cayman visits Cayman Brac Set amidst the serene and scenic backdrop of Cayman Brac, Leadership Cayman (LC) held its fourth seminar, Sister Islands Perspective, over two days, March 19 and 20. Immediately following flights from Grand Cayman, group members were given a behind-the-scenes tour of the Charles Kirkconnell International Airport; a tour of Faith Hospital; and a tour of Le Soleil D'Or (Golden Sun) located on the Bluff, where they were also treated to a lunch prepared by the staff at Le Soleil using ingredients grown at the farm.  Chamber partners with CAYFILM The Chamber is partnering with CAYFILM to promote the upcoming Cayman International Film Festival from 18th to 20th June. The CAYFILM Cayman International Film Festival is an annual multi-day spectacular event that promotes the Cayman Islands as a world-class filming destination and incredible place to visit and do business. Included in the festival will be daily film screenings, question and answer sessions with filmmakers, panel discussions, workshops, an exclusive premiere screening, and a celebrity gala event. We will be releasing regular updates about the festival and will be adding a link to the economic development section of the Chamber's website.
