Welcome to the newly designed member e-newsletter. Special thanks to the Chamber's Communications Partner, FSH Design, for developing the template. We have tried to simplify and improve the design, include fresh and interesting content that will keep you informed about Chamber activities, training, government affairs, policy positions, members news and activities and community events.

Happy 50th Anniversary! Let's Celebrate! 

March is the start of the Chamber's 50th anniversary year. This is an amazing milestone and the Council is planning several activities to celebrate this achievement. If your business would like to get involved in the celebrations please contact the Chamber office at 949-8090. More details will be shared in future issues. 

Newly designed website launches this month

To begin our 50th anniversary year, the Chamber will be unveiling a newly designed website that will provide members with a better platform to promote their businesses locally and to the world. The last upgrade took place in 2003. The Chamber is the first membership based organisation to launch a website in 1997 with an online and searchable membership directory. The new website will incorporate Google Maps, Social Media links, enhanced membership directory listings, facilitate online payments, event registration, community calendar postings and improved access to the members only section. There will be affordable options available throughout the site to promote your organisation. Contact Nicola Burke at  membership@caymanchamber.ky or call her on 743-9129 to set up an appointment. 


5th Chamber Salary & Benefits Survey is underway 

 

The 5th Chamber of Commerce Salary and Benefits survey is underway. KRyS Global has been commissioned by the Chamber Council to conduct the survey.  It is the fifth salary and benefits survey to be commissioned by the Chamber since 1997. All information remains confidential and is summarized to reflect salary and benefits trends across specific industry sectors. The survey includes more than 160 benchmark positions.

Career, Education & Training Expo 2015 - an outstanding success!  

 

The Career, Education & Training Expo 2015 held on Friday, March 13 was a superb line up of some of the most respected local businesses, educational institutions and government departments. Each booth at the UCCI Sir Vassel Johnson Hall was full of information on the particular business/organisation as well as available jobs, scholarship information and training and internship opportunities. The event was opened on Friday morning by Honourable Minister Tara Rivers and Chamber President Barry Bodden. Mr. Bodden commended the 37 sponsors/exhibitors of the Expo....

BE INFORMED about important legislation  

 

BE INFORMED sessions are being planned to provide members with information about the changes to the Trade and Business Licensing Law, the proposed Builders Bill, National Conservation Law and proposed Intellectual Property legislation that addresses local registration of copyrights and trademarks. Presentation dates are now being finalised. These sessions are free to members and take place in the Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Centre conference room in Governors Square. 

 

Welcome the 2015 Leadership Cayman Class  

 

Leadership Cayman (LC) continues to connect and inspire some of the Islands' top leaders to better understand their personal leadership abilities and styles and to gain an in-depth understanding of the Cayman Islands.

Launched by the Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce in 2010, LC welcomed a full class of 25 participants during a two-day opening retreat at the Reef Resort in East End and held two seminars entitled "Media in our Community" and "Criminal Justice".
