Finding a Healthier You

Many people ring in the New Year with a long laundry list of resolutions - eat healthier, lose weight, exercise more, be happier. But, achieving big goals like these can be daunting and overwhelming and ultimately discouraging when it feels like you can't reach them.

Try something new this year. Focus on a healthy outlook and don't think of it as an all-or-nothing type of goal. Think of your health as a journey. Each decision you make is a step in a direction on this journey, whether it's a step closer to a good healthy lifestyle or a step further away.

There are the tried and true ways to a have a healthier lifestyle - control portion sizes, be more active, quit smoking. Here are some other ideas to help you achieve a healthier lifestyle.

Remembering Loved Ones

Join us for our annual Vermont Respite House tradition - a chance to gather to honor and remember our loved ones.

Memorial Tree Lighting and Remembrance Ceremony
Sunday, January 18, 2015
2-4 pm
Williston Federated Church, Williston, VT

During the ceremony, the names of all Respite House residents in 2014 will be read. After the ceremony, you are invited to join us at Respite House to view our Memorial Tree and share in some refreshments.

If you would like to participate in sponsoring the Vermont Respite House Memorial Tree, you can download an order form here. Your $10 gift will help light the tree in memory of the person you have named to be honored. All names received by noon this Friday will be included in the printed program.

Your donation is appreciated and supports the care given to over 190 people and their families each year.

If you have any questions, please contact Crystal Vendrell, VNA Special Events Coordinator, at 860-4435.
