Fun Run Fun This Saturday!

Join the VNA on Saturday, May 10 as we walk, run, jog, stroll and bike to raise money for the Vermont Respite House at ths year's 5K Fun Run & Jiggety Jog.

Held at Allen Brook School in Williston, this annual event not only allows us to raise money for Vermont's only Medicare-certified home-away-from-home for people with a terminal illness, but it also is a chance for families and friends to honor those who have died.

The cost to participate is $20 per person and there is still time to pre-register by visiting www.vnacares.org/run. You can also set up a fundraising page to get your friends and family to support you in this event.

Bring in your registration receipt or your "thank you for registering" email to get this discount!

The Art of Nursing

"Nursing is an art; and if it is to be made an art, it requires as exclusive a devotion, as hard a preparation, as any painter's or sculptor's work." -- Florence Nightingale

This is a great week to say thank you to all the nurses in your life.

National Nurses Week, which begins on May 6, is a time to honor, celebrate and say thank you to those who work countless hours and with multiple patients to provide a safe and caring environment in which to hearl. This national recognition runs until May 12, which also marks the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing.

Florence Nightingale worked a lifetime to better the living conditions of the wounded and the ill. She also believed in proper training for nurses. The VNA is following in her famous footsteps to provide a residency and internship program for recent graduates and nurses in transition to another specialty.
