Heart Healthy February
|
February is the month of love with its famous heart-friendly holiday. But, did you know that February is also American Heart Month?
This is a great reminder to all of us that we need to give ourselves a little love and learn how to stay "heart healthy" for our friends and family.
For those with an unstable condition or at risk for quickly developing complications or worsening of an illness, the VNA can help you monitor your heart rate and other vital signs with our Home Care Telehealth Program.
When Martha Provost heard about this program on an episode of Across the Fence on WCAX, she called her doctor.
"I was always worrying about my oxygen levels and my heart rate and I had made several trips tot he ER because of these issues," Martha explains. "The telehealth machine sounded like something I should have in my home."
The doctor agreed and Martha contracted with the VNA to access this service.
Let the VNA help you stay "heart healthy."

Full Circle Festival
|
Last week, we had a special guest visit us at the VNA to learn more about our programs. You can check out the adventures of Oompa, the Full Circle Mascot, on our Facebook page. While at the VNA, Oompa received a check up to make sure he was ready for his event:
Full Circle Festival
Friday through Sunday
April 11-13, 2014
in Burlington
Full Circle Festival is a chance to bring together all generations to celebrate aging and living life to the fullest. There will be performances, workshops, films, activities and art exhibits. Also, during this weekend event, you can see a play by Vermont playwright Maura Campbell that was commissioned by the VNA. Memory Palace follows the story of three sisters and the joys, frustrations, and outrageous moments they experience as they care for their elderly mother.
Want to volunteer to help out during this weekend event?
Volunteers are greatly appreciated and receive free admission to most events. To fill out a volunteer form or just to learn more about Full Circle, please visit www.fullcirclefestival.com or call 802-660-9826 or email linsey@fullcirclefestival.com.
