Marketing Education Teacher

  

In her 34th year of teaching, Robin's course load might include Creative Advertising, Growing a Business, Entrepreneurship, Business Management-Corporate View, and Internet Marketing. She taught for 10 years in Clearfield County and has taught in SCASD for 24 years. She founded the Roar Store, a school-based enterprise run by students, in 2000 and it has flourished since. Robin recently received the Advisor of the Year award from DECA (an association of marketing students), selected from 85 advisors across the state.

Robin holds a Masters Degree in Business Education and a Bachelors Degree in Marketing Education. Awards include DECA Marketing Teacher of the Year, Who's Who in American Teachers Award, and Vocational Teacher of the Year 1991.

Robin says she "loves the energy and enthusiasm of the students. They love to learn and lead in their chosen program and always give 100 percent. Students are a vital part of the program's growth."

Straight Talk for Parents Series:
Body Language: Talking It Through
 
Tuesday, April 15 - 7 p.m. too 9 p.m. at Mount Nittany Middle School

with Dr. Susan Russell, Professor of Theatre, PSU; Kikora Franklin, Professor of Theatre and Dance, PSU; and High School Student Performers

This student-based Body Language Performance will bring young people to the stage to address depression, anxiety and social issues that can complicate their lives and those of their families and friends. Through drama and dance, their stories will highlight both the fragility and power of the human spirit. This educational performance will be informative, moving, and memorable. It features students from the Delta Program and State College High School.

All Night Party Needs Volunteers 

The All Night Party takes place following the senior prom on May 10 as a safe, substance-free environment for students to continue their night of prom festivities. More than 500 student attend each year. Largely volunteer run, the event requires lots of help and they would like parents who are interested in keeping kids safe to assist by volunteering or donating. Summer Activities for Middle School Students

Once again, Community Education will be offering a variety of enrichment courses for secondary students this summer, including:  Robotics, the Wheel Throwing Pottery for Teens, Moon Base I, Challenging Science Investigations, The Science & Technology of Human Survival, Photo, Cinema & Audio Arts Exploration and Art in August.   See more and register on-line. 
Dedication of Pole Vault Soft Box donated by Kevin Dare Foundation
In honor of the late State High grad Kevin Dare and to ensure the future safety of area track and field students, the Kevin Dare Foundation donated and installed a new pole-vault Soft Box to the State College Area School District Track and Field program. A dedication ceremony was held April 8 at the track and field behind State High's south building.
Secretary of Education presents Governor's Award of Excellence in Academics to five of our schools.
 

PA Secretary of Education, Dr. Carolyn Dumaresq, visited the District April 8 and commended all district schools on their excellent preparation of our students. She presented the Governor's Award of Excellence in Academics to five of our schools, including Corl Street and Ferguson Township Elementary Schools, Park Forest and Mount Nittany Middle Schools, and State College Area High School.
