Alex Raup - Teaches eighth grade English at Park Forest Middle School
Alex was born and raised in State College and attended Radio Park Elementary School, Park Forest Middle School, and State College Area High School. He now teaches in the same classroom where he had eighth grade English. After graduating from Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, PA, (where he was actually his college's mascot) Alex returned to the State College Area School District, teaching English and Journalism at State High during the 2009-2010 school year. He began teaching at Park Forest in the fall of 2010. This will be his fourth year at PFMS. Away from the classroom, Alex coaches swimming at Nittany Lion Aquatic Club and is an assistant coach for the State High swimming team. He also enjoys running, golf, and following Penn State and Philadelphia sports.

Memorial Field Re-dedication
Renovations to Memorial Field are nearly finished. At halftime during the home varsity football game Friday, Oct. 11, a special ceremony will be held to re-dedicate the renovated field in memory of all those members of our armed forces who have fallen in wartime. All veterans, active military and reservists attending the game will be honored as well. We will also recognize our partners in the repair and restoration of this special venue that is used for so many of our athletic teams and marching band. An opportunity to invest in the future of Memorial Field will also be unveiled. You can pave the way for future students to use this field through purchasing an engraved brick for the sidewalk along the west side of the stadium on Fraser Street. Watch for details to come. Hear Our Roar in 20-1-4
Homecoming Celebration
State College Area High school students took to the streets Thursday, September 26 with over 65 festive homecoming floats. Streets were closed as the whole community gathered to watch the annual spirited parade.
Various athletic teams, student organizations and school classes created one-of-a-kind floats for the parade. Seniors expressed their own theme "Hear Our Roar in 20-1-4." Michael O'Melia and Maggie Griffin were crowned this year's Homecoming King and Queen. The National Association of Home Builders Club was awarded the first place float for the third year in a row with their "high school" float and theme, "Enter as a cub, leave as a lion."
