SUMMER ASSIGNMENTS & SUPPLY LISTS

I wish everyone a safe and happy summer. Welcome to all incoming 6th grade parents. Summer assignments, supply lists, calendars and more for all schools are posted to the district's Back-to-School Center web page.

LOST AND FOUND

The lost and found clothing and contents are located on tables in the BMS commons. Parents may check out the clothing and contents by signing in at the front office. All unclaimed clothing and contents will be donated to charity beginning June 18.

BMS GUIDANCE COUNSELOR

Mr. Winston made me aware that he will leave Beachwood Middle School at the end of this week to pursue different interests in the counseling field. I wish Mr. Winston the best of luck. Parents may email me with scheduling questions while a search for Mr. Winston's replacement is pursued.

INCOMING 6TH GRADE ORIENTATION

The incoming 6th graders will have orientation on Friday, August 14, from 9 am until 1 pm. This is a student-event only. Parents will be responsible for their child's transportation to the event. Pizza will be served for lunch.

8TH GRADE WASHINGTON DC CLASS PICTURE

The Washington trip class picture should arrive this week. I will send out an additional correspondence when it arrives.

2015-2016 STUDENT SCHEDULES

Student schedules for the 2015-2016 school year will be released to Infinite Campus on Friday, Aug. 7.

CHANGES TO THE UNIFIED ARTS ROTATION

When schedules are released next school year, Music History & Appreciation/Keyboarding, Visual Arts, and Industrial Technology will make up the Unified Arts rotation. The addition of Music History & Appreciation/Keyboarding, which replaces Home Arts, will allow students to study how music can enrich lives and how it reflects culture. Students will learn how to read music, compose music, and acquire some basic keyboarding skills. In addition, students will learn about how technology and software can be used in creating and recording music. Students will study various careers in the music field.
