Looking for a Few Faithful Evangelists

When our Lord Jesus Christ appointed seventy-two men to go out and proclaim the Gospel, He said, "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few" (Luke 10:2). We have been praying earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out more laborers into His harvest. The fields are indeed white for harvest (John 4:35). We are now looking for a few dedicated evangelists who have a compelling desire to make our Lord's last command their first concern. Over the past 24 years we have developed some effective evangelistic resources that we will make available at a minimal expense to those who are committed to distributing them.

The largest and most neglected mission field continues to be the Roman Catholic Church. It represents more than 1.2 billion souls that need to hear the truth that will set them free from religious deception (John 8:31-32). Yet many Christians are neglecting this mission field because a growing number of evangelical leaders are saying Catholics are already our brothers and sisters in Christ.

There is much confusion in the evangelical church regarding Roman Catholicism. A majority of evangelicals believe it is a Christian denomination instead of an apostate church that formally and dogmatically departed from the faith at the 16th century Council of Trent. The bishops pronounced over 100 anathemas on any Christian who would stand on the truth of God's word rather than submit to the pope and his ungodly traditions. Those damning condemnations against Christians, who trust the perfect, finished, and sufficient redemptive work of Christ, are still in effect today and can never be rescinded.

Because of the growing confusion in the evangelical church, we realized the urgent need to educate Christians concerning the deceptive teachings of Roman Catholicism. This was our motivation for publishing the Gospel tract: Rome vs. the Bible. The tract offers 13 clear contrasts between God's Word and the Catechism of the Catholic Church regarding authority, regeneration, justification, salvation and the Lord's Supper. Anyone who reads this tract will see that Roman Catholicism has departed from the truth of God's Word and stands opposed to the faith of the Apostles. The tract not only exposes the errors of the Catholic religion, but also forces Catholics to make a decision: "Should I trust Christ and His Word or the teachings and traditions of a religion?"

Please let us know if you would like to labor with us as a distributor of our evangelistic resources. We will equip and encourage you as you contend earnestly for the faith and proclaim the glorious Gospel of grace! Call or e-mail us for more details about the new program we are developing. Remember, only two things on earth are eternal: the souls of men and the Word of God. Everything else will eventually be burned and destroyed with intense heat (2 Pet. 3:12).

Pope Says the Division Between Evangelicals and Catholics Is A Work of the Devil

"Division is the work of the 'Father of Lies,' 'the Father of Discord,' who does everything possible to keep us divided," the Pope said in his message to a group sponsored by the John 17 Movement. He said the devil "knows that Christians are disciples of Christ, that they are one, that they are brothers! He doesn't care whether they are Evangelicals, Orthodox, Lutherans or Catholics. They are Christians."  Read more.

Mike's Comment: The pope has blasphemed the Holy Spirit by attributing the work of Christ to the work of the devil. It is the Lord Jesus who divides believers from unbelievers by the truth of His Word (Luke 12:51-53). Born-again Christians and Catholics will always be divided on the essentials of the Gospel, how one is born again, how one is justified, how one is purified of sin, who can mediate between God and man, and the efficacy, sufficiency and necessity of Jesus Christ for salvation. Pope Francis is the one who is doing the work of the devil by rebuilding the religious tower of Babel as he seeks to unite all Christians under the papacy. Tragically, some evangelicals are jumping on his ecumenical bandwagon by denying the exclusivity of God's Gospel. Read more of Mike's response in an interview with the Christian News Network.
Alpha Conference Calls for Unity with Catholics

The 2015 Alpha leadership conference on Unity was held in London last month and attended by many evangelical pastors and leaders. Nicky Gumbel's opening address (32 minutes) brought shame to the purposes of Christ and the sanctity of His Church. He calls for unity with the Catholic church and quotes Pope Francis and his push for ecumenical unity. Listen to other messages here.
Letters From Around the World

Hi Mike, Perhaps you can help me with a question about attending a wedding in a Catholic church. What if your son is marrying a Catholic, would you go to the wedding? My friend told me I should not go to his wedding. What do you say about this? L.M., Internet

Dear L.M., You are in a difficult situation but you must remember the Lord Jesus Christ suffered and died a terrifying death as your substitute. The very thought of going to a false church where He is blasphemed or dishonored should weigh heavily on your heart. To go would be giving an endorsement or approval to the idolatrous worship of a false Christ in the Eucharist. While some would say it is important to go for the sake of family unity, we must ask the question: Is it more important to seek the approval of God or man (Gal. 1:10)?  Let us never forget what the Reformation was about. The Reformers did not suffer excruciating pain, torture, and death because Catholicism is merely another form of Christianity with inconsequential differences. Rather, they rightly saw the anathemas pronounced by Catholic bishops on Christians as clear evidence of their opposition to Christ. True followers of Christ should "not yield in subjection to them for even an hour, so that the truth of the Gospel might be preserved" (Gal. 2:5). We must recognize that when we get invited to these events, they are wonderful opportunities to teach and share the truth of the Gospel. A good way to do this is by asking questions such as: Are you familiar with your church's teachings on salvation? Would you be interested in knowing what the Word of God says? Use these opportunities to explain how Catholic teachings stand in opposition to God's Word. After the discussion you can say, "As much as I love you, I hope you understand that my love for my Savior is far greater. I desire to please Him in all that I say and do." Blessings, Mike

Hi Mike, According to Vatican I, papal infallibility requires that the pope make a solemn declaration, by virtue of his supreme authority, (ex cathedra pronouncement) that a doctrine concerning faith and morals must be held definitively by all the faithful. Thus infallible doctrines are not recent theological developments but are truths that have been taught throughout the history of the Church. There have been only two undisputed, widely recognized ex-cathedra declarations of infallibility: the Immaculate Conception in 1854 and the Assumption of Mary in 1950. See a Discussion of Infallibility by Father John Triguillo. In the peace of Christ, Joe D.

Hi Joe, Thanks for sending your church's position on infallibility, but why would something so crucial to the eternal salvation of souls not be found in the Bible? The ungodly statement by Triguillo is totally absurd: "Any dogma is an infallible doctrine, divinely and formally revealed by God as a necessary truth for salvation." I find it hard to believe that anyone with a sound, logical and rational mind would embrace it. The Bible clearly teaches that everything necessary for salvation is contained in the Gospel according to Scripture alone (1 Cor. 15:1-4; 2 Tim. 3:15-16). Don't you find it incredible that infallible doctrines must be believed for salvation, and yet no list exists for Catholics to study and embrace? You mentioned two of them that refer to Mary, yet according to God's Word, the supreme authority for faith, the Gospel is ONLY about the Lord Jesus Christ. I pray God will grant you repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth so that you can escape the snare of the devil who holds you captive to do his will (2 Tim. 2:24-26).

Communist Castro Meets with Socialist Pope

Cuban President Raśl Castro met with Pope Francis at the Vatican and thanked the pontiff for his role in rekindling relations between the United States and his island nation. The Communist leader also said he was so impressed with the pope that "I will go back to praying and go back to the church, and I'm not joking." The Cuban president, bowing his head, gripped Francis' hand with both of his, and the two men began private talks.

The Vatican announced last month that Francis would visit Cuba in September before arriving in the United States. Castro said, "When the pope goes to Cuba in September, I promise to go to all his Masses, and with satisfaction." He said, "I read all the speeches of the pope, his commentaries, and if the pope continues this way, I will go back to praying and go back to the church, and I'm not joking." Read more.
Pope Appoints Radical Pro-Homosexual

Pope Francis has appointed the radically liberal, pro-homosexual Dominican priest Timothy Radcliffe to the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace. Radcliffe was Master of the Dominican order from 1992 to 2001, and is an outspoken proponent of homosexuality. He said, "We must accompany [gay people] as they discern what this means, letting our images be stretched open. This means watching 'Brokeback Mountain,' reading gay novels, living with our gay friends and listening with them as they listen to the Lord." Radcliffe said of homosexuality: "I would think that it can be expressive of Christ's self-gift. We can also see how it can be expressive of mutual fidelity, a covenantal relationship in which two people bind themselves to each other for ever." The Boston Globe's Catholic website CRUX called the appointment "a move sure to raise eyebrows among the Church's traditional guard," and said Radcliffe is "a strong ally of Pope Francis." Read more.
Amazon Offers a Gay Bible

The following description of a Gay Bible is found on the Amazon web siteThe Queen James Bible is based on The King James Bible and is edited to prevent homophobic misinterpretation. Anti-LGBT Bible interpretations commonly cite only eight verses in the Bible that they interpret to mean homosexuality is a sin; Eight verses in a book of thousands!  The Queen James Bible seeks to resolve interpretive ambiguity in the Bible as it pertains to homosexuality: We edited those eight verses in a way that makes homophobic interpretations impossible. The QJB is a big, fabulous Bible. You can't choose your sexuality, but you can choose Jesus. Now you can choose a Bible, too.

The Supremacy and  Sufficiency of our Lord Jesus Christ

God's Gospel reveals all the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished to save sinners from the power, punishment, and ultimately, the presence of sin: righteousness had to be perfected, divine justice had to be satisfied, blood had to be shed, redemption had to be paid, sins had to be forgiven, reconciliation had to be achieved, death had to be conquered, and salvation had to be secured.
What a glorious Savior we have to proclaim!
