Are You Meditating on our Wonderful Savior?

As we meditate on our great God and Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, let us ponder the majesty of His creation, the riches of His grace, the cleansing power of His blood, the perfection of His righteousness, the necessity of His mercy, the faithfulness of His love, the blessings of His redemption, the greatness of His power, the authority of His word, the purity of His Gospel, the sufficiency of His atonement, the miracle of His resurrection, the need for His intercession, the promise of His inheritance, the assurance of His promises, and the glory of His second coming. Meditating on the Lord Jesus will keep our heart and mind stayed upon Him. As we behold the glory of the Lord, we "are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit" (2 Cor. 3:18).

The more we contemplate the glory of Christ's incarnation and His sin-bearing sacrifice which satisfied divine justice, the more we will be compelled to tell others about His gracious offer of forgiveness and redemption. After all, He is the greatest man who ever lived who offers the greatest gift anyone could ever receive! There is no higher calling in this life than to serve the King of kings as His ambassadors. It is indeed a great privilege and an awesome responsibility to be His ministers of reconciliation (2 Cor. 5:18-20).

False Converts Need to Be Warned

How tragic is the thought that there are many people who have head knowledge of the truth, regularly attend church services, partake in religious activities, associate with God's people, frequently pray, and yet will never enter into the kingdom of heaven. These victims of deception have never experienced a godly sorrow for their sins to the point of repentance (2 Cor. 7:9-10). They rest in a form of godliness but deny its power (2 Tim. 3:5). Unless they are reached with the true Gospel and are called to repentance and faith, they will one day hear the terrifying words of the Lord Jesus when He declares: "I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness" (Mat. 7:23). It is for such people that we published the Gospel tract, True Faith or False Hope: How Can I Be Sure? If you have a burden for the "many" false converts in our churches, you can order the tracts here.

Growing Confusion Within Catholicism

Cardinal Raymond Burke denied that he was "defying" the pope's authority, but he said there's "a growing confusion about what the Church really teaches." In an interview with Ireland's state broadcaster, Burke said it is "not helpful...to have this broad discussion" on issues of homosexuality, divorce and remarriage and put them to a vote." Cardinal Burke was careful to explain that the pope does not have the power to change Catholic teaching. He refused to comment on whether this pontificate is "in serious trouble" because of Pope Francis' silence, but restated his previous assertion that "the matter has to be clarified and now." Satanic Unity in Error or Divine Division in Truth

Pope Francis is telling those committed to Christian unity that they should pray and work together now, and not wait for theologians to reach agreement.  He said, "We are sinning against Christ's will because we continue to focus on our differences," but "our shared baptism is more important than our differences." While the devil, the "father of lies," divides us, the Pope added, we are called to preach the Gospel in every corner of the earth, with the certainty that He is with us. Read more.

Mike's Comment: The pope's quest for "Christian" unity is not the same unity that Christ prayed for in His high priestly prayer. He prayed for all those who believe in Him through His Word to be sanctified by truth in the same way the Father and the Son are united as one (John 17:17-21). It is the devil who seeks to unite apostate Christianity with all the religions of the world at another tower of Babel. The pope is the devil's willing ambassador as he seeks to carry out his prophetic plan. Let no one be deceived - divine division in truth is infinitely better than satanic unity in error!

Letters From Around the World

I was one of the many Catholics in the audience at one of your recent seminars. After being a Baptist for 25 years, I converted to Catholicism while attending Bible Study Fellowship (BSF). God used John 6:51-53 to change my heart. Did you know that many left Jesus, just as you did, because "it was a hard saying to understand?" You truly need to study the faith of the Early Fathers and read the Catechism end to end. P.J., Internet

Dear P.J., The "many" who left Jesus were unbelievers who followed him across the Sea of Galilee for another free lunch, but Jesus was only offering them spiritual nourishment. He said, "you are seeking me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate your fill of the loaves" (John 6:26). As the Bread of Life, Jesus offered Himself as the spiritual food that endures to eternal life, not food that perishes (John 6:27). He finished His discourse by saying, "the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life" (John 6:63). His words would provide everlasting spiritual life for everyone who believes in Him (John 6:40). Jesus promised to be spiritually present whenever Christians gather for the Lord's table. He said: "For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst" (Matthew 18:20). His presence is spiritual, not physical. The Eucharist is no more the physical "Body of Christ" than the church is the physical "Body of Christ." Both are metaphors used in Scripture (1 Cor. 10:16, Eph. 4:12). Catholics always try to establish their unbiblical dogmas using early Church Fathers. How do you know the "Fathers" you are trusting are not the fierce wolves that Paul warned "would come in among you... speaking twisted things, to draw away the disciples after them" (Acts 20:29-30)? You would be wise to build your theology on the supreme authority of God's Word.

Dear Mr Gendron, You say that "Born again Christians should not be joining Catholics in any spiritual enterprise or activity because St. Paul said light and darkness have nothing in common and there is no agreement between the temple of God and idols" (2 Cor. 6:14-18)." It always astounds me how evangelicals make arguments that even a 4th grader could dispel. Evangelicals who don't believe that a consecrated host is the body and blood of Christ (as He said), and don't take part in sacraments such as confession, puts their own souls at risk. You, sir, do a great disservice to Christianity. Please do not reply, as I've been warned that evangelicals must come to the truth from God and on their own. They'll argue till they die. I wouldn't read it, anyway. Mark O., Preston, CT

Mike's Comment: We often receive emails and phone calls from stubbornly proud Catholics who have no desire to examine their faith through the lens of Scripture to see if it is genuine (2 Cor. 13:5). Sadly, there is a devilish confusion that comes upon people who believe they are above reproof or who refuse to submit to the supreme authority of God's Word for faith and practice. Religious indoctrination is Satan's most powerful tool in blinding the minds of unbelievers from the light of the Gospel (2 Cor. 4:4).

Mike, It has been a few years since I had you speak at Bethel Baptist Church in Green Bay. I just returned from the Vatican and the idolatry was appalling. They had exhumed a pope who "miraculously" had not decayed. That had him on display under glass like some sort of gourmet dish or exhibit. He was nearby John Paul's tomb. People were kneeling and praying before these two dead men. I also saw the "Jubilee Door" where select people may pass through and receive complete absolution of all sin. Through it all I had three conflicting emotions. I was amused, angered, and grieved by the hopeless superstition and unbiblical idolatry of it all. The side show aspects (Jubiliee Door and Pope under glass) amused me. The abject exploitation angered me. The utter darkness of it all grieved me. I say all this to say keep doing what you're doing: Proclaiming the Gospel. K.C.

Mike, I love Kirk Cameron and think he is a true brother in Christ, but I am firmly against him giving in to paganism by allowing the celebration of Halloween, Santa Claus, Easter bunny, etc. You are the best teacher I know when it comes to Catholicism and paganism. You have taught me and my husband so much, and with such a calm and gentle disposition. It would be such a blessing if you and Kirk could have a discussion. What a great testimony he would have when he learns the truth! A.S., Stuart, OK

Kirk Cameron's Saving Christmas Movie Flops

Kirk Cameron was relying on a large turnout of Christians for the success of his new movie Saving Christmas; however its two week run ended with a thud. Sunny Shell, reporting for The Christian Post, said, "Thankfully, Christians are smarter than some think, and not even the glitter of a celebrity Christian can cause us to bow down to a golden calf wrapped in faux 'holiday cheer.'" Cameron responded to the low ratings by blasting haters and atheists. In an interview with The Christian News Network, Mike Gendron noted that Christmas in itself is a Roman Catholic holiday mixed with pagan traditions. He said, "The word Christmas means the mass of Christ when a wafer is said to become the physical body and blood of Jesus Christ. The Mass becomes a ritualistic slaying of Jesus Christ on an altar for the purpose of appeasing the wrath of God. This is official Roman Catholic doctrine, and 'Christmas' is a word they invented for Christ's mass. When people say, 'Merry Christmas,' they probably don't know the meaning behind the greeting. They are mixing the holy name of Christ with a pagan holiday and a blasphemous representation of Christ on an altar." Read more.
Will Mary Unite Hindus with Catholics?

A shrine dedicated to Our Lady of Fatima draws thousands of pilgrims seeking peace and unity in Bombay, India. A statue of the apparition was brought from Portugal in 1920 and concluded its 79th annual pilgrimage Oct. 19. A Catholic priest said Mary's pondering on the message of St. Gabriel was a "pondering on the Eucharist" that enabled her to become the first tabernacle. He said, "The shrine creates an opportunity for inter religious dialogue," in an area where 82 percent of the population is Hindu. Read more.

Mike's Comment: The apostate Catholic religion will continue to seek unity with all religions under the global power of the false prophet who sits in the office of the papacy. As you can see here, the call to Rome continues to be the false Christ of the Eucharist. How absurd and moronic it is for a Catholic priest to declare that Mary "pondered the Eucharist" when the angel Gabriel announced that she would give birth to Jesus, the Son of God. Catholicism rejects Christ as the only sinless mediator and declares that Mary is another sinless mediator who can bring unity to all religions if they worship her sacred heart.
Lutheran Bishop to Celebrate Mass with Pope on the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation

Christian Krause, a Lutheran bishop and president emeritus of the World Lutheran Federation, asked Pope Francis to celebrate together with him the 500th anniversary of the Protestant reformation, which will occur in 2017. This common celebration, he claimed, may be "a witness for all the Christianity on earth." The invitation took place at the ecumenical convention of the bishop-friends of the Focolare Movement on Nov. 7. This year's meeting to foster Christian unity focused on Eucharist. Read more.
Idolatry Starts at the Top

Pope Francis went to the Basilica of St. Mary to pray before the image of the Virgin and to ask for her intercession for his apostolic trip to Strasbourg. Francis prayed for around half an hour and left the Virgin a floral tribute in blue and yellow, the colours of the European flag. Read more.

Mike's Comment: The pope can get away with this sin of idolatry because the Catholic Church removed the 2nd commandment from the Catechism of the Catholic Church. "You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God (Exodus 20:4-5). No where in the Bible can you find a God-fearing man praying to anyone other than almighty God.
Rick Warren Seeks Unity with Catholics

Rick Warren calls for unity with Catholics and says: "We have far more in common than what divides us. If you love Jesus, we are on the same team." Watch 2 minute video here

Mike's Comment: Rick Warren apparently does not know that the Jesus of Catholicism is not the same Jesus that is revealed in Scripture. The Catholic Jesus returns every day at the beckoned call of an unqualified priest to be transubstantiated into a wafer and offered again and again on an altar that never finishes the work of redemption. Anyone who loves and worships this false Christ is committing the sin of idolatry.
Spurgeon Warned of Acceptance of Catholicism

Without any fear of man, Charles Spurgeon exposed the growing resurgence and tolerance of Roman Catholicism among evangelicals 150 years ago. He warned his congregation that he could foresee Romanism expanding everywhere in the future because its germs were spreading everywhere in the present. He could see a veneration for the sacredness of places, which is idolatry, the sacredness of priests, fine linen, altars, and fonts. He criticized the shepherds of the fold for their silence and others for paving the way for converts to travel on the pope's broad way to hell. Such words were virtually prophetic, as we witness the growing tolerance and wholesale acceptance of Roman Catholicism as a valid expression of Christianity today.
Mormon Church Admits Founder Had 40 Wives

The Mormon church has admitted that founder Joseph Smith married about 40 women, including a 14-year-old and some wives of his followers. Mormons have tried to gloss over aspects of its history, including the polygamy practiced by Smith and Brigham Young. The church banned polygamy in 1890 when the U.S. government threatened to deny Utah statehood. The Supremacy and  Sufficiency of our Lord Jesus Christ

God's Gospel reveals all the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished to save sinners from the power, punishment, and ultimately, the presence of sin: righteousness had to be perfected, divine justice had to be satisfied, blood had to be shed, redemption had to be paid, sins had to be forgiven, reconciliation had to be achieved, death had to be conquered, and salvation had to be secured.
What a glorious Savior we have to proclaim to those who are in bondage to sin!
