Let's Call It Resurrection Day, not Easter

The world calls the greatest day on the Christian calendar "Easter" in an attempt to obscure or dismiss the supernatural miracle that took place 2000 years ago. As Christians, we should call it "Resurrection Day" in celebration of the glorious resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. He "was declared to be the Son of God in power according to the Spirit of holiness by his resurrection from the dead" (Rom. 1:4). We can rejoice in His triumphant victory over death, sin and Satan. However, we must never forget that the battle for the eternal souls of men continues throughout the world. Only the truth of God's Word can slay the lies of the devil. It is the duty of every blood-bought Christian to be actively involved in the Lord's army, to expose all forms of deception and to warn victims who are embracing a false and fatal gospel. Let us have a greater compassion for people who are committed to a religion without any real understanding of the Gospel of Christ.

According to God's great mercy, "He has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead" (1 Pet. 1:3). As ambassadors for the resurrected King of kings, let us emulate the apostles who gave "their testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all" (Acts 4:33). Let us sow the seed of God's imperishable Word and pray, in God's providence, the seed will fall on fertile soil. The Gospel is the greatest news anyone could ever hear because it is about the Greatest Gift Ever Given.
Help Us Name Our New Tract for False Converts

Since there are probably more false converts in our churches today than ever before, we will be publishing a new Gospel tract to warn them of their false hope. We are looking for a title that will encourage people to read it. Please let us know your suggestions. Here is the tract...

The most terrifying words professing Christians could ever hear would be Jesus Christ saying, "I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness" (Matthew 7:23). On judgment day, those horrifying words will be heard by many who call Jesus "Lord" who never repented of their iniquities. How can this be? How can someone who declares Jesus is Lord and perform religious activities not be truly saved? How do you know this will not happen to you? Most people comfort themselves by saying, "It can't be me, because I believe in Jesus."

Two Kinds of Faith
Scripture says, "You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe, and shudder" (James 2:19). The issue is not your "faith in God", but what kind of faith do you have? Two types of "faith" are described in the Bible. One originates in man as he gives mental assent to certain truths about God. It is a dead faith that produces no evidence of a new life in Christ (James 2:17). The other is a God-given faith which includes being born again as a new creature in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). This is a living faith born out of a new heart that desires to bear fruit for the glory of God (Ezekiel 36:26; John 15:8). Would you be willing to look to Scripture to test your faith? (2 Corinthians 13:5). If you are a true Christian, it will deepen your assurance of salvation. If you discover you are not truly converted, by God's grace, call on the Lord before you perish forever (Romans 10:8-13).

Two Roads to Eternity
The Lord Jesus said we must: "Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few" (Matthew 7:13-14). This is followed by an urgent warning: "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves" (Matthew 7:15). They appear to be Christians, but deceive people with a distorted gospel that denies the sufficiency of Christ for salvation (Galatians 1:6-9). They will deceive people by asking them to respond to the Gospel without repentance and faith (Mark 1:15).

Two Responses to the Gospel
Some believe they are a Christian because they responded to an altar call, or asked Jesus into their heart, or made a one-time decision to follow Christ, or repeated a sinner's prayer or were baptized. These responses are not found in the Bible. The only response unto salvation is to "repent and believe the Gospel" (Mark 1:15). Jesus declared, "I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance" (Luke 5:32). God is commanding "all people everywhere to repent" (Acts 17:30). Saving faith is "the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen" (Hebrews 11:1). God wants us to know that we have eternal life (1 John 5:13). Read the complete tract here.

Review and Critique of the "Son of God" Movie

My dear friend and brother-in-Christ Justin Peters has written an excellent review and critique of the blockbuster film, "The Son of God." Knowing that this movie is going to be the topic of considerable conversation for some time, we should all be ready to warn others of the egregious problems with the movie. Read it.
Letters From Around the World

Dear Mike: I read an article which said there are true believers who attend Roman Catholic churches. The question I receive most often is: "Can one be a Catholic and be saved?" I am fully aware of how far Billy Graham has gone in his affirmation of R.C.'s. Thanks for your input, dear friend. Your ministry is more needed now than ever. D. N., Kernersville, N.C.

Dear D.N., Since Catholic teachings nullify, oppose and pervert the Gospel of grace, a Catholic must repent and believe the true Gospel to be converted to Christ. When that conversion is a reality, the Spirit of truth will lead him out of that false and idolatrous religion as he abides in God's Word and is discipled to observe everything Christ has commanded. There are biblical reasons why Christians cannot remain in the Catholic Church. Its teachings deny the sufficiency and efficacy of Christ's finished sacrifice on the cross. In its place they embrace a corrupt religious system that offers a bloodless sacrifice of a Eucharistic Christ on an altar along with sacraments, purgatory and indulgences. Furthermore, Christians who desire to obey God's word will leave the Catholic Church and its grievous sin of idolatry. Paul commanded us to "flee from idolatry" (1 Cor. 10:14), and to "turn from these worthless things to the living God" (Acts 14:15). Catholics who claim to be born-again, but refuse to submit to the authority of God's Word and leave their false religion, have most likely not received the Spirit of Truth.

Mr. Gendron, I draw attention to your video clip Roman Catholicism and Bible Prophecy (at 10:23) where you affirm the possibility that Eucharistic miracles could be the work of Satan. To suggest that this miracle could be the work of Satan is a textbook example of the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit (Matthew 12:22-32). Truly, you are the most evil man I have ever corresponded with. M. P.

Brother Mike, I heard your radio interview on Worldview Weekend regarding Kenneth Copeland and Pope Francis seeking unity. Thank you for this timely, relevant and very important data. The video clip of the papal appeal to Copeland and his apostate response was beyond grievous. Luther, Wesley, Calvin, Knox, Zwingli and the Anabaptist leaders would be physically sick if they had seen this apostate unification with Rome in their days. I believe that we are likely seeing the early stages of the forming of the great whore, one world, apostate, unified, false church of Revelation 17-18 before our very eyes. These are certainly incredible times in which we are living. Thanks for your vital ministry for our Lord, Savior and coming King Jesus. May He abundantly bless you for your labors. N. M.

Catholics Adore the Crown of Thorns

An ancient relic that many Catholics revere as Jesus Christ's "Crown of Thorns" has made a special public appearance at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. The crown is a circular band of branches encased in a golden tube. It is being displayed to mark the 800th anniversary of the birthday and christening of King Louis IX of France, who acquired it in 1239. Read more.

World Council of Churches - Unity with Rome

In an audience with Pope Francis in the Vatican, the World Council of Churches (WCC) general secretary Dr Olav Fykse Tveit stressed the significance of Christian unity. The WCC has 345 member churches in more than 110 countries. In his remarks Tveit said, "We are all included in the prayer of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ: 'That they all may be one'" (John 17:21). Today we give thanks to God that we, in the one ecumenical movement, to which also the Catholic Church contributes substantially and faithfully, see significant expressions of being one, although not yet a full visible unity. Mutually we recognize the one baptism; we do confess together the one faith in God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit." Read more.
Pope Could Support Civil Unions

Pope Francis suggested in a newspaper interview that the Catholic Church could support some types of civil unions. A number of Catholic bishops have supported civil unions for same-sex couples as an alternative to marriage, including Pope Francis when he was Archbishop of Buenos Aires in 2010, according to reports in National Catholic Reporter and The New York Times. Mike's Comment: The purpose for continuing to expose the unbiblical, ungodly agenda of the papacy is to show that the Roman Catholic religion is corrupt from the top down (Eph. 5:11). This false religion is not built on the Rock of Jesus Christ and it does not uphold the truth of God's Word. It usurps the supreme authority of God's Word for an authority of its own. We must warn people that Roman Catholicism is not a Christian denomination, but an apostate church that leads people to a Christ-less eternity. It represents a huge mission field with precious souls that must be rescued!
Another Shocking Comment by Pope Francis

The pope strongly defended the Catholic Church's record on tackling sexual abuse by priests. He said: "The Catholic Church is perhaps the only public institution to have acted with transparency and responsibility. No-one else has done more. Yet the Church is the only one to have been attacked." The leader of an Italian group representing victims of clerical sex abuse argued, "The Pope may make this statement, but the Vatican doesn't reply to the UN or impose the obligation that bishops should denounce accused priests in the courts and not deal with the cases internally." Pope Confesses to Stealing a Rosary

Pope Francis has confessed that he took the rosary cross of his late confessor from his casket. The priest also heard the confession from Pope John Paul II when he visited Argentina. When the priest died, Francis went to pray by his open casket and was stunned that no one had brought any flowers. `'This man forgave the sins of all the priests of Buenos Aires, but not a single flower ...?" Francis recalled. So he went out and bought a bouquet of roses, and when he returned to arrange them around the casket, he saw the rosary the priest still held in his hand. The pope said, "And immediately there came to mind the thief we all have inside ourselves and, while I arranged the flowers, I took the cross and looked at him and said `Give me half your mercy.'" Pope Invited to Address U.S. Congress

House Speaker John Boehner extended an open invitation to Pope Francis to address a joint meeting of Congress. Boehner, who is Catholic, noted in a statement that the Argentinian was the first Pope "to hail from the Americas." The Speaker said his teachings, "rooted in 'the joy of the gospel,' have prompted careful reflection and vigorous dialogue among people of all ideologies and religious views in the United States and throughout a rapidly changing world, particularly among those who champion human dignity, freedom, and social justice."  Read more.

According to the book of Revelation, no one will be able to buy or sell unless they have the mark of the Beast. God's Word reveals that those who take the mark will be making a fatal spiritual decision that will far outweigh the short term economic benefits.
