ASPA- Southern California Chapter
Burbank - ASPA Student and Professional Dinner Discussion
I can't make it
Greetings!

The Southern California Chapter of ASPA is pleased to present the continuation of our informal dinners by presenting a personal and interactive evening with Jeff Kolin, City Manager of Beverly Hills and Mark Scott, City Manager of Burbank. These prominent managers will share their personal stories and perspectives on the relevant issues facing local government management.

The city manager form of government has been the hallmark of municipal administration in California for the last 40 years. Certain challenges are enduring including how to deal with moral dilemmas, career passages and commitment to preparing future leaders. Recent issues are emerging that necessitate new strategies. For example, how to be responsive and provide great customer service in today's technology driven environment and respond to expectations emanating from instant communication? Howe do we find time to invest in talent development and in long range community planning?

Jeff Kolin

Mr. Kolin joined Beverly Hills in January 2010 after 30 years in local government serving Santa Rosa, Pittsburg and Santa Clarita. Mr. Kolin is Vice President of the California City Managers Foundation and an ICMA Credentialed Manager. He is a strong believer in customer-oriented local government and has built unique partnerships to meet community needs in a rapidly changing environment.

Mark Scott

Mr. Scott joined Burbank in 2013 after 35 years serving Fresno, Culver City, Spartanburg, South Carolina and Beverly Hills. Mr. Scott is a 38 year member of ICMA and was founding member of the City-County Communications and Marketing Association. He enjoys participating in the craft of community-building and facilitating partnerships
