2016 Post-Show Recap

The 58th annual Toronto International Boat Show saw 70,643 attendees, a 1% increase over 2015 (70,174).

Exhibitors reported strong sales across most categories, despite negative financial market conditions and a declining Canadian dollar that were a focus of national media during the show.

Program Reports 984 Boats Sold

Margo Evans, Don Hyde Marine, was our final $100 winner! Her winning ballot was for a 34' Monterey she sold on closing Sunday.
Our BUY A BOAT & WIN contest creates incentive for consumers to finalize boat purchases before the end of the show.

Brian Tilbury, of Kitchener, ON, is our 2016 winner!
Brian wins $10,000 toward his 18' Legend, which he purchased at the show from Becky Gardhouse of Legend Boats. We will present him his cheque in the spring when Brian takes possession of his new boat.

Each day of the show we also made a random dealer draw from BUY A BOAT & WIN ballots.
Congratulations to our $100 dealer winners for 2016:
  • Steve Smart, Smart's Marina
  • Steve Clarke, Boatland RV Marine
  • Rick Gerritsen, Quiet Waters Sailboats
  • Becky Gardhouse, Legend Boats
  • Adam Lynch, Grand Boats
  • Sean Ward, St. Onge Recreation
  • Jenn Riel, Kawartha Boat Depot
  • Stuart Picken, Walsten Marine
  • Gary Kelly, Muskoka Lakes Marine
  • Margot Evans, Don Hyde Marine
A secondary objective of this program is to generate sales statistics - frequently requested by media. Accuracy of numbers we provide is reliant on exhibitor participation in the program. This year, the BUY A BOAT & WIN program reported 984 boats sold. In 2015, the program reported 843 boats sold; in 2014, 772 boats.

Thank you to all who participated!
