Principal Post

It's hard to believe that this is the last school week of December!  It is a wonderful time of the year to get together with friends and family to celebrate and be thankful for all the wonderful people in our lives.  I would like to thank everyone for their continued support and partnership.  I am thankful to work with such amazing educators, staff, students, and parents.

All the best,
Leslie Elmer
Administrative Intern

Our Lost and Found
...
...is overflowing!! Please check through the many bins of lost items. Each year bags and bags of clothes from our Lost & Found bin are donated to local charities. Since we never know when an item is placed in the bin, it's a good idea to do periodic checks. To ensure that your child's belongings are returned, please make a point to label all items with his or her name. Lost and Found items that are clearly marked will be held and returned for the student. Items left in the bins will be donated to charity over Winter Break. Hurry on down!

Pantry Packs Food of the Week

Happy Holidays Dickinson/Explorer families! This week we're going Crackers for Christmas! We're asking for donations of crackers and small jars of peanut butter. Any kind of cracker will do from saltines to Triscuits to Cheez-its to Ritz to whatever is your family's favorite cracker. Any type of peanut butter is appreciated as well. Remember: we have 20 students here at Dickinson that receive these packs every week. Winter Break is coming up and we're going to try to send them home with an additional pack next week. We'd love to include some peanut butter as it's a good source of protein that can last longer than the weekend. Thank you for your help! Enjoy your Winter Break!

Explorer Community School's Enrollment Information Night

Thursday, January 8, 2015, 6:30pm, Dickinson Commons

Lake Washington School District parents are invited to Explorer Community School's Enrollment Information Night: Thursday, January 8, 2015 at 6:30pm at the Emily Dickinson school commons.

Explorer is a Lake Washington School District choice elementary school located on the Emily Dickinson campus in Redmond. One of three choice elementary school programs in the Lake Washington School District, Explorer offers a small elementary school environment staffed by three certified teachers in multi-aged classrooms grades one through five. Explorer's curriculum promotes academic excellence, strong self-esteem, a love of learning and a belief in the importance of community. Parent volunteers are vital to the school's success in meeting these goals and a high level of parental involvement is required. Attendance at this evening information night is highly encouraged for all families who wish to enroll a child for the 2015/2016 school year. Following the presentation, you will have the opportunity to sign up for a school tour. We are unable to offer childcare; therefore this is an adult only evening. Details regarding Explorer enrollment can be found hereor call (425) 936-2533.
