Just 3 Weeks Away From an Education Triple Threat...Are You Ready?
|
|
This special educational 3-in-1 event on November 3-4 has something for everyone.
Marketers and Business Development Professionals will be involved in a highly interactive workshop where the focus is YOUR Credit Union. Sometimes it's not easy to think "Outside the Box". Jeff Slutsky of Street Fighter Marketing will set the tone with an entertaining and motivational session designed to change how we think before we dive in with ideas. He'll then help open your mind to simple ideas that help you out-think your competition without having to out-spend them. Jeff and a panel of CU Marketing experts will join in an open discussion review of some of your marketing & advertising pieces.
Business Developers will have an opportunity to submit written Business Development Plans for review with John Godwin and discussion of how to make them and our goals more effective and relevant. Don't have written BD Plans? No problem... Click Here to fill out a questionnaire and John will help you develop one! Got a question for the former CUNA Business Developer of the Year? Just ask! John is accepting advance questions or topics for this interactive session at john@haynesgodwin.com.
Human Resources Professionals will be participating in a program that is unlike any other HR Conference you may have ever attended. In addition to discussion of the Fair Labor Standards Act and HR Audits, we will be discussing HR situations that can only pop up in a credit union; like how to handle employees with past due accounts; offering employee loan rates; policies for entertaining and after- hours networking involving alcohol. We'll also learn how to take the sting out of delivering difficult news and how to turn inter-office conflict into strength for your organization!
If you are registering for either of the 2 programs above, you will automatically be enrolled in 11 Ratios Every CU Professional Needs to Know at no additional fee. However this program is NOT limited to those program registrants, it is open to EVERYONE on your staff that needs or wants a basic understanding of your credit union's financial health. These eleven ratios will be broken down into their simplest form and this is a great session for anyone wanting to know the basics or someone wanting a refresher course. Discussion of each ratio includes its definition; a formula for calculation; the industry standard result and the important factors to consider when making decisions. When purchased separate from the above programs, the educational investment for this 2 hour event on November 3rd is just $100 per student.

We have two nationally recognized rockstars in Louisiana! Special shout out to Tobi Bullock, CEO of CANNO FCU, and Emily Beatmann, Marketing Coordinator at Section 705 FCU, for being named two of CUNA's 2015 CU Rockstars.
Each year, Credit Union Magazine recognizes the credit union movement's Rock Stars: those unique, innovative people who excel in their areas of expertise-and by doing so make our movement a better, more interesting place. The program recognizes and celebrates Luminaries of Lending, Social Media Celebs, Balance Sheet Bigwigs, and other Rock Stars of the credit union movement in a special issue of Credit Union Magazine.
"Credit Union Rock Stars is a wonderful way to recognize the hard work and dedication of talented credit union professionals from across the country," said Ann Hayes Peterson, Credit Union Magazine editor-in-chief and CUNA vice president of publishing. U.S. Treasury Awards $2 Mil to Pelican State CU
|
|
Pelican will use the funds to continue its nationally award-winning HELP initiative - a comprehensive services and lending program designed to move low-income residents from debt to asset building. The HELP program is an acronym that stands for Helping Empower Louisiana's Poor.
"We are thrilled that our efforts to provide credit opportunities to underserved areas will be enhanced and supported by the US Treasury. This grant will allow us to expand our reach of providing affordable credit to Louisiana residents of modest means in underserved areas," said Jeffrey K. Conrad, Pelican CEO/President.
This marks the second federal grant awarded to Pelican and fulfills 100% of the funding requested by the credit union.
The Department of Treasury established the Community Development Financial Institutions Fund in 1994 to provide credit, capital and financial services to underserved populations. Including this round, the CDFI Fund has awarded just over $1.5 billion through the CDFI Program.
