Smart Tips

Energy Efficiency:
Microwaving your food, as opposed to using a conventional oven, uses 2/3 less electricity. Check out the tips here to get the most out of your microwave.
Worksite Wellness:
Jefferson did it, Darwin did it, 4CORE does it, so why aren't you enjoying the benefits of a standing work station? Sedentary
work stations can be detrimental to your lifespan and style, even if you still work out everyday. Standing desks keep you active and alert, while still allowing you to complete your everyday tasks. Stand up for your health and happiness at work!
Overall Sustainability:
Little things add up to large problems. Consider a small thing like drippy faucets. Just one faucet, dripping only five times per minute, can add up to 173 gallons of water wasted every year. How many of your faucets drip? Assess wasted water in your home or business with this calculator from the United States Geological Society and make sure you grab your monkey wrench and fix those leaks.

Congratulations to Gloss!

Gloss is the first RSBP business to be certified as "Making a Difference." Gloss has upgraded all lighting to LED, resulting in savings of over $1,300 and 13,000 kWh annually. By reducing operational costs, Gloss will see a return on its investment in just eight short months. Gloss has also installed weather stripping on their front door, insulated their water heater, created a mission statement for their business that incorporates sustainability values, and offered a wellness package to their staff that aligns with personal interests and needs.

Reach the next Level
To help businesses assess their success and stay on track, the RSBP defines three levels of certification. To be certified as 'Ramping Up', businesses must implement at least one recommended action from one of three assessments. Businesses are certified as 'Making a Difference' once they have completed one improvement in each category: Energy Efficiency, Worksite Wellness and Sustainability. Finally, businesses that complete three improvements in each category are certified as 'Going Beyond'.

Last Chance to Apply!
Only nine spots left to take advantage of the RSBP as a free program! Make energy efficiency, worksite wellness, and overall sustainability part of your business' new year resolution by applying for your spot with the RSBP. Applications must be submitted by January 31st to be considered.
