Resource Smart Business Program: Work Smarter, Not Harder
Weekly Smart Tips
Welcome to the FINAL edition of the RSBP Weekly Smart Tips. We'd like to thank Ryan Riebau, the AmeriCorps intern who has been doing an amazing job generating these weekly tips, for his time and dedication to the RSBP. Unfortunately, Ryan's internship is over (best of luck!), and we are unable to completely fill his smart tip-generating shoes. Starting in January, we will be transitioning to monthly smart tips. Until then, have a happy and Resource Smart holiday season!

Energy Efficiency

Replace or clean your heating system's filters once a month. Dirty filters restrict airflow and increase energy use. Now is also the tim
e for a furnace "tune-up." Keeping your system clean, lubricated and properly adjusted will reduce energy use, saving up to 5% of heating costs.

Worksite Wellness

Some foods contain pesticides and other contaminants. The best way to avoid these is by purchasing organic, but organic can be more expensive. The Dirty Dozen, or the 12 fruits and vegetables most likely to contain pesticide residue, include: apples, celery, sweet bell peppers, peaches, strawberries, nectarines, grapes, spinach, lettuce, cucumbers, blueberries, and potatoes. When buying these items, choose organic.
