Resource Smart Business Program: Work Smarter, Not Harder
Weekly Smart Tips
Greetings!

Time for the next Resource Smart Business Programs's (RSBP) weekly Smart Tips, your source for quick information to help you stay resource savvy at work, at home, or anywhere in between.

Energy Efficiency

Before it gets too cold outside, double check the tire pressure in your vehicle to ensure proper tire inflation. Insufficient pressure is detrimental to gas mileage.  For every 15 psi of pressure your tires are off, you lose 5% of your miles per gallon.  Inflate your tires and save money over the winter.

Worksite Wellness

Take a second to share a meal with co-workers or plan a lunch date with friends or family.  This might seem simple, but when you eat with company, you're more likely to be:
  • paying attention to what you eat
  • focusing on each other instead of using electricity and watching your computer or TV
  • actually leaving the office and changing your scenery during work, which will improve your mood and productivity
  • spend meaningful time with people who are important to you

Overall Sustainability

If you're composting this season, do not compost any of the gifts bears and the many other forest creatures leave you, no matter how many apples they may include.  As a general rule, you shouldn't compost any house pet droppings as well.  For an additional list of thing you shouldn't compost, visit this website.
