Resource Smart Business Program: Work Smarter, Not Harder
Weekly Smart Tips
Greetings!

Time for the next Resource Smart Business Programs's (RSBP) weekly Smart Tips, your source for quick information to help you stay resource savvy at work, at home, or anywhere in between.  This week, don't forget to vote for the 2012 Green Business Leadership Award.  Instructions are included below.

Energy Efficiency

Did you know that laptops use 80 to 90% less energy than stand alone desktop computers?  Typical desktops use 65 - 250 watts per hour, while laptops consume 15 - 60 watts.  Save even more energy by remembering to turn off and unplug your laptop once you are done using it.

Worksite Wellness

A number of things can add stress at work: workload, expectation, or worries about job security.  Working out or joining a gym or a sports club can help turn that nervous energy and frustration into a healthy body and calmer self.

Overall Sustainability

Did you leave your refrigerator running?  Did you know your fridge consumes 15% of your household electricity?  If you do not clean the coils on the back, your fridge actually consumes as much as 25% more energy to keep your food fresh!  Don't forget to clean your refrigerator coils this fall.
