BRICKS ---- PHASE III

Those of you who have attended a football game in the last two years have witnessed the renovation of the football field entrance, made possible through the collaboration of the J'town welding classes, numerous graduates, and the many individuals who purchased engraved bricks.

Fresh Crowned Entrance
Make you mark here.

We have heard from so many graduates who have not had the opportunity to purchase a brick but would like to be included in the memory walk, that we have now opened Phase III.

The $50 brick is 4 x 8 with 3 lines of 14 character script. The $100 brick- some have used these as the "family" brick- is 8 x 8 and has 6 lines of 14 character script. Symbols, which count for 4 spaces, may be substituted or added to the script.

Walk of Fame Pic 2290
Don't miss your chance, your brick could be here ....

To order, you can go to the JHS web site, www.jtownalumni.org, and use our Pay Pal system which allows you to pay for the brick as well as write the script, or you can contact Myra Fugate at the alumni office at Myra.Fugate@Jefferson.kyschools.us or 502-485-8136 for more information.

JHS ALUMNI NIGHT AT THE FOOTBALL GAME

By: Jay Bailey

It was a cool clear night for the JHS Alumni Night on Friday, October 11, 2013; at the JHS Homecoming Football Game with the JHS Fighting Chargers vs. Elizabethtown's John Hardin HS Bulldogs.  It was a cool evening, but not terribly cold, definitely very good weather for a sweatshirt.

At least 80 JHS Alumni visited the JHS Alumni Association booth which was located near the scoreboard for this game, because the field was far too wet at the other end of the field where we typically setup, due to the heavy rains we had experienced in the days before this night.

There were Alumni representing classes for the years of 1970 - 2010, in addition to all of the current students that were also in attendance for the game.

In addition to sharing stories, laughing and enjoying the game, the Alumni Association also had hotdogs, brats, chips, candy & drinks, for any alumni to enjoy free, donated by our gracious supporters.  Plus we had JHS Alumni T-Shirts & Sweatshirts available for sale as well.

Numerous alumni showed their Charger pride, by wearing their school colors; some of the T-shirts & sweatshirts where older than the students playing on the field, but were still in great condition.  So do you recognize any of these Alumni or current students?  We all met old friends and made some new friends too.

Alas the Charger's really fought valiantly but they were denied a win for home coming.  If you did not get to enjoy the night with us, you should join us next time and help cheer for the home team.

 GO CHARGERS !
