STAFFORD BRANDON passed away in November, 2011. He came to JHS in 1972 as an art teacher and remained until his retirement. In addition to his painting and drawing classes, he developed the photography program at J'town.
MICHAEL H. BURKS, class of 1970, died in January, 2012. He was a retired employee at Ford Motor Company and an Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Burks.
BRIAN CATLETT, class of 1992, died in July, 2012 in a car accident. He was on the JROTC rifle team and the speech team. He is survived by his cousins, Carson Ledford, class of 1987, and Marilyn Proctor Newman, class of 1977.
DYLAN FIRST, class of 2012, died in a motor cross accident in December, 2011. He was in the engineering and robotics programs, president of the National Honor Society, and an Eagle Scout.
GARRY WAYNE GRANT, class of 1976,54, passed away in Bloomfield in May, 2012. He was an employee of Lowe's of Bardstown. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ollie and Helen Ernspiker Grant. He is survived by a daughter, a son, and four sisters: Sonnie Waggoner, Judy Bryant, Patsy Johnson, and Debbie Grant.
AGNES MARIE HODAPP, class of 1937 in the original JHS, passed away in May, 2012. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Hodapp and her son-in-law, Russell Judkins.
MARK JAGGERS, M.D., class of 1983, died in July, 2012. Mark was an ophthalmologist with the Eye Care Institute following a career with the Air Force. He flew C5s during the Gulf War and for the Humanitarian Efforts in Somalia. He is survived by his wife Rebecca Schmitt, class of 1983; his children, Meredith and Colin; and his brother, Kevin Jaggers, class of 1987.
TODD MITTLER, class of 1980, passed away in June, 2012. He was a member of the football and track teams. He served in the Navy and graduated from Volunteer State. He is survived by his parents, Jack and Betty Mittler; siblings Jackie, class of 1977; Sharon, class of 1981; Scott, class of 1985; and Casey, class of 1986.
TONY PANTOJA, class of 1976, passed away in December, 2011. He was very involved in the music classes and productions, including starring roles in South Pacific and Camelot. His latest JHS performance was at the dedication of the new JHS auditorium. He is survived by his sisters Lisa, class of 1973 ; Carman, class of 1979; Julie, class of 1985; and Jennifer.
ADRIAN KEITH PATTERSON, class of 1970, died in Dec., 2011. He was a retired greens keeper for Metro Parks. He was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Patterson. He is survived by his mother, Lois Patterson; four sisters: Bonnie Myers, Brenda McClary, Sharon Foree, Teresa Gail Patterson; and a brother, James Terry Patterson.
LOUIS KIRK REID, class of 1975, passed away in July, 2012. After graduating from JHS, he attended Eastern Kentucky University. His career with Kroger Company spanned 36 years. Preceding him in death were his father, Judge Collis Reid, Jr. and a brother, Joseph Glenn Reid. He is survived by his mother, Mary Elizabeth Reid; brother, John Reid; and sister, Mary Ann Underhill.
DANIEL LOUIS SAUER, died in June, 2012 at his residence in Tampa, Florida. He was elected the historian and the Most School Spirited by his 1979 JHS classmates. He is survived by his parents; brothers Jim, class of 1974; Paul, class of 1977; and Bert.
PHILLIP KURT SHIPP, class of 1983, passed away in December, 2011. Phillip played football and was a state champion in wrestling. He was a member of the National and Kentucky Association of School Resource Officers, "Bad to the Bone" Motorcycle Club, and various quartet singing groups.
BETTY SMITHER died in February, 2012. She taught English in 1970 at J'town and continued her career at Jefferson Community College. She is survived by Bobby, class of 1972; Mike, class of 1974; and Bill, class of 1979
ROBERT BRUCE TABB, formerly of Palm Springs, California, passed away in November, 2011, at his home in Lexington, Kentucky. He was a member of the JHS class of 1981. He is survived by his sister, Sallie Dalton Tabb, class of 1975.
BRISTOL THACKER passed away in June, 2012. Mr. Thacker came to J'town in 1993 as a teacher in the new technology department. He retired in 2002.
JACKIE CAUDILL, class of 1978, passed away in August 2012 in his brother's home. Jackie was well known for his basketball career. His career in life was a Business Sales Executive. Jackie served our country for four years in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany for two years. He was known in his Ft. Thomas neighborhood as the "Protector", and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his two younger brothers; Kevin Caudill, class of 1983 and Dennis Caudill, class of 1979. He is survived by his brother Gary Caudill, class of 1976.
