Happy New Year!
As we reflect on 2013, we're once again moved by the loyalty and friendship of our customers who have given us another excellent year. At home, away from home, and online, business has been consistent and strong. We value your confidence in us, and we thank you sincerely.
We're making a few changes in the way we'll do business in 2014. Not the least of these is our decision to limit our regular shop hours to our Spring and Fall Openings and other special events. Even though our OPEN flag won't be seen very often, we'll be keeping the shop viewer-ready, and we encourage you to email or call any time you'd like to stop by. We'll also be making a few minor changes to our website, changes that should make it more easily navigable.
Our monthly newsletters will remain the cornerstones of our online business. Our first newsletter was published in February 2004, so this issue marks the end of our 10th year of uninterrupted monthly publication. Our newsletters have transformed our business and have expanded the geographic area which our customers call home. For instance, later today we'll be sending a parcel to a retail buyer in England who found us online. We do and will continue to invest significant amounts of time to keep our monthly emails as interesting as we can, and we appreciate every subscriber who takes time to open them.
We've had fun putting this month's newsletter together, and we think you might enjoy it, too. As you scroll down the page, just click on links that interest you. And, as always, thanks for being a subscriber. |

This month we list fourteen pieces, including a small group of oil paintings, sampling of period and centennial furniture, and a few serendipitous smalls. We feel that it's a particularly interesting selection, with reasonable prices and a few surprises. Just click on the painting to have a look.

Our New Year's Eve Party
In keeping with tradition, Jan and I spent most of December 31st preparing the meal that the two of us would share to mark the end of 2013 and the beginning of a new year. If you'd like to see a few pictures of our six-course New Year's Eve feast for two, just click on the picture.

A Visit to The Cloisters
Why would two otherwise normal Western Massachusetts antiques dealers make a six hour round trip to New York just to listen to twelve minutes of music? Click here to find out.

The Back Page
Our trip to New York last month occurred on a particularly foggy day, when higher than normal temperatures caused melting snow to reduce visibility considerably. Once in Manhattan, though, the fog produced some interesting photo opportunities. Click here to see our favorite.
