Happy New Year!
And thanks to all who helped make 2012 such a successful and rewarding year for us. During the past twelve months we found scores of interesting and attractive antiques, both in this country and on two buying trips to England. Most of these new finds are in new homes, and we've booked travel and accommodation for our next trans-Atlantic journey.
As this new year begins, we're optimistic about business and life in general. We wish all of our readers the very best in the coming twelve months and beyond.

The latest news
In case you've not noticed, we'd like to point out that Winter is upon us. As we wrote this last week, the temperature in Pumpkin Hollow was minus 7 degrees! Cold enough, if you ask us.
To conserve heating fuel, our shop is now closed throughout the winter months, although we're always happy to open our doors to interested shoppers. We'll re-open on May 4 & 5 for our annual Spring post-England weekend, and then will keep regular hours on Sundays until our Fall trip. Conway is lovely in the Summer, too, and there's lots to see in the area. We hope you'll consider a visit.
This Winter we're planning a one-time online show, featuring antique Americana and other objects from our personal collections. Sale items will be available only through our website, putting them within reach of readers who can't get to our semi-annual openings. You'll find preliminary information below.
You may notice that we've changed the format of our monthly Newsletter. We haven't changed its content significantly, but we think that it will be a little easier to traverse. We'd be happy to hear your feelings. |

Our New Year's Eve Dinner
Many of our readers know that Jan and I celebrate the coming of the new year at home, with dinner for two. We spend the day in the kitchen, preparing the food we'll cook a course at a time and consume at leisure. It's also custom to share this annual feast with our readers. If you'd like a look, just click the picture.

Looking back (and forth)
We've written often in these newsletters about the evolution of our business over the years. Now, at the quarter-century mark, it seemed fitting to review the major decisions we've made during these years, assess where we are today, and give thought to the next decade. Read more

Pippin's Page
Pippin has never been interested in eating people food, so his interest in our New Year's celebrations is best described as passive. Yet, he enjoys the warmth of the fire and has always been able to find a place from which to enjoy the party in his own way. Click on his nose to see how he spent New Year's Eve of 2012.

The Back PageAfter a snow-less November and December, we had our first significant snowfall on the day following Christmas, providing the incentive to don warm coat and Wellingtons and walk around the property, snapping a few shots of our surroundings. Click here to see one of our favorites.
