The Virginia Junior Master Naturalists Program is dedicated to inspiring children and teens to
  • have fun in nature
  • learn about the natural environment
  • become environmental stewards in the community
  • develop an affinity for nature

Registration is currently open for the next year.  Programs are on Sundays, 1:30-5:30 and most meetings are held at the Brock Environmental Center and Pleasure House Point Natural Area.

 

Open to children ages 8-13

Also accepting applications for Teen Leaders (14-18)

 

Meeting begin September 7, 2016 and extend through August 19, 2017

Paddle Fest
Saturday, September 10th
9:00 AM - 1:30 PM 

$40 per person for paddling events, cookout, and event tee shirt    

Kayak Into History Tour
 
Kayak into History for a trip back in time to several historic sites along the Western Branch of the Lynnhaven River.  A historian will accompany the trip as will skilled kayak guides.(2 hour tour)
Bring your own kayak or canoe.  Limited to 20 people

Ebbing Tide Eco Tour  
Have you wanted to try out a paddle board?  Join this tour for an informative tour of the beautiful Lynnhaven.  The calm waters of Pleasure House Creek offer a peaceful and relaxing saltwater marsh to explore.  Enjoy seeing a kingfisher catch its next meal or identify critters in our habitat cubes located throughout the wetland. (2 hour tour)  Paddleboards will be provided. Limited to 9 people

Wild River Outfitters Western Branch Paddle
Enjoy a lovely paddle in the Western Branch of the Lynnhaven.  Explore marsh islands and see a variety of wildlife: oysters, herons and egrets, snails, fish and more.  Bring your own kayak or canoe for this 2 hour tour.  Limited to 20 people.

Cost: $40 per person includes one paddle event, food and drinks at the cook-out, and an event tee-shirt
