Two Volunteer Opportunities

Build a Living Shoreline
We will be installing a living shoreline at a property on Kline Drive in Virginia Beach on Wednesday, July 13th.  We need 10 volunteers and will begin work at 9 AM.  It should be completed in 5 hours.  This is a great way to learn more about living shorelines.  Any help will be appreciated!  For more information or to volunteer, please contact Trista@LRNow.org.

Oyster Research Volunteers
We are seeking three volunteers on each of these days, July 12, 13, 14 and 15, to carpool with us to VIMS is Gloucester Point where we will sort microscopic organisms that dwell on Lynnhaven River oyster reefs.  You will receive all the training you will need.  Volunteers must commit for the whole day from 9 AM - 5 PM and be prepared to spend the day looking through a microscope.  This is an excellent opportunity to learn about oyster reefs and the organisms that call them home.  For more information or to volunteer, please contact Laurie@LRNow.org.
