Our cleanup crews collected more than 5,000 pounds of trash in our Virginia Beach waterways this year.
We worked with six homeowners to build oyster castle reefs on their shoreline and collected over 3,000 bushels of shells in our Save Oyster Shell program that will be used to construct sanctuary reefs in the Eastern Branch next spring.
More than 25,000 students and teachers in our public and private schools this year were trained to be watershed stewards of the future. Seventy-two Virginia Beach schools earned our Pearl School Award.
We planted shorelines at Mount Trashmore and Pleasure House Point and launched three floating wetlands.
