SOS on Joe's Jobs Wednesday, September 11, 5:00 PM
LRNow's Save Oyster Shell program will be featured on the Channel 13, WVEC, news tomorrow evening. Tune in at 5:00 Wednesday evening to Channel 13 to see Joe Flanagan heft a can of oyster shells and interview LRNow staff members, Michael Minor and Meredith Malone about the LRNow Save Oyster Shell program. This segment of Joe's Jobs will also be available on the WVEC website after airing.
Our Save Oyster Shell program began in the summer of 2006 with eight Virginia Beach restaurants. Today, 23 Virginia Beach restaurants participate in our program and we also collect shells from oyster roasts and from four public drop off locations throughout the city. Contact us if your neighborhood or civic organization is planning an oyster roast and we will make arrangements to pick up the shells from the event. And don't forget to drop your own shells off at one the four locations listed below:
- Lynnhaven River NOW office, 1608 Pleasure House Road, Suite 108
- Virginia Aquarium, East Parking lot, 717 General Booth Boulevard
- Whole Foods Market, 1800 Laskin Road, west side of the parking lot near the loading docks
- City of Virginia Beach Landfill & Recovery Center, 1989 Jake Sears Road
