Thank You for Your Support
Whole Foods was a Success
Thank you to everyone who voted for our video on the Whole Foods facebook page and thanks to those who came out to shop on November 1st. We saw a lot of familiar faces that day and made many new friends. Because of your support, Whole Foods has contributed $5,800 to our oyster restoration work. We will use this money to further our native oyster restoration work in the Lynnhaven.
Virginia Beach's Sustainability Plan
As you may recall, the Environment and Sustainability Office held multiple public meetings to gain input for the development of the City's first Sustainability Plan. As the city nears completion of the draft plan, they are holding a second round of public input meetings. The dates are:
Tuesday, November 13th -- 7-9 PM at the Oberndorf Central Library
Wednesday, November 14th, 7-9 PM at Creeds Elementary School
Thursday, November 15th, 7-9, at the Municipal Center, Building 19
You are invited to participate in any of these meetings, which are free and open to the public. Prior registration is not necessary.
The meeting will consist of a short review of the draft plan, and involve facilitated discussion by participants. You can review the plan prior to the meeting on the city's website, vbgov.com
If you are unable to attend, you are invited to send your comments to Clay Bernick at firstname.lastname@example.org no later than November 30th.
Thank you for being a part of this important process.

Free Virginia Pine Trees
Contact us if you are interested
We have Virginia Pine trees free to good homes. These two foot tall trees were grown by Bob Carroll's Plaza Middle School students and are ready to find their forever homes. Virginia Pines have been used as Christmas trees so you can share your holidays with your new tree before planting it. Contact Helen at helen@LRNow.org
or call 757-962-5398 to reserve your tree today. The trees will be ready for pick up at the LRNow office the weekend before the Thanksgiving holiday.
In November, water fowl are arriving for the winter.
