The Band Perry has its song, "Live Forever," chosen as official U. S. Olympic song. The band is from Greeneville, TN, home of Running Journal.
St. Jude Nashville Rock 'N' Roll was a big hit with runners. Scott Wietecha of Hendersonville, TN, wins the marathon for the fourth time in 2:25:42. Melanie Kulesz of Oak Ridge defended her title as female champ in 2:59:12. There were over 30,000 runners for the races
Brent Morrison, who was shot and killed while on a run last year at Fort Smith, Arkansas, will have a race in his memory on July 9 at Fort Smith.
