Time to Dig!

Digging Trees in Watertown!
The crew have the digging down to a science

Duane's crew has been digging almost every day to take advantage of the short window for getting deciduous trees above ground and ready for sale. The guys seen here are working on an 'Autumn Radiance' Red Maple up at the tree farm in Watertown. With everything in place and in ideal conditions it takes them less than a few minutes per tree. Being a northern tree grower we're up against mother nature's fickle New England springs - piles of snow on northern

slopes, muddy roads and soggy fields - they sometimes literally fight an uphill battle. I had the chance to see them in action last Saturday. Watching Serbio on the machine and the guys wrapping the root-balls was impressive!  So far, well over 1,000 trees have been dug, balled and transported to the sales yards in Watertown and Newtown - ready for your next jobs!

Who Isn't Ready for Some Color?
Pansies are here!

Use also in the beds to supplement the spring bulb display or accent around emerging perennials and ornamental grasses. Though they are usually treated as annuals they are in fact quite hardy and can withstand late frosts.

Stop by the sales yard in Newtown soon, they won't last!
Magnolia stellata: Spring's Shining Star
Royal Star Magnolia

This should be on your list - the winter silhouette is interesting and the large gray velvet flower buds are an early sign of what's to come. Great for foundation plantings and mixed borders and worthy as a single specimen or accent plant.

Plant in moist, fertile soil in a full sun to partial shade site that's protected from extreme wind. It needs at least 6-8 hours of direct sun and needs to be protected from harsh winter winds. The large, showy flowers...Read More

We currently have very good availability on Magnolias - many varieties to choose from - call for pricing.
