Butterflies and Humming Birds love them!

Sluggish?
slugs
Maybe it's time for some Slug Magic! It's safe to use on veggies, fruit and ornamentals,  plus no worries around pets or children. Keep your landscape hole-free!
Spread a Little Sunshine
Veronica repens 'Sunshine'
Veronica repens 'Sunshine' (Speedwell) - is an interesting groundcover with a light blue flower late spring. Use in rock gardens or to soften flagstone patios. Somewhat tolerant of foot traffic, it's hardy to Zone 4 and deer resistant. Not, however completely drought tolerant -  on hot summer days it will need some moisture.

Butterfly Garden

Company Name:
ECOSCAPES
, Seymour

Objective: Create a Butterfly Garden at St. Rose School in Newtown as the first stage of their Outdoor Learning Center. We did the install early in the season, together with the solar canopy classroom and playgrounds so it would be ready for September's Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. A sensory garden will be added in the future.
Wildflower Mix
This Wildflower Seed Mix was put down this spring!

Plants Used: Butterfly Wildflower Seed Mix, various perennials (Cone Flower, Milkweed, Bee Balm, etc), Ornamental Grasses (Northern Sea Oats, Little Bluestem) and small trees and shrubs (Little King River Birch,  and Lilacs).

Customer Comments: The garden is going to be the place for children to learn about nature starting, of course, with butterflies!

Plants to Know
Picea pungens 'Bizon Blue'

Bizon Blue Colorado Spruce
There's not much to rival the vivid color of the bluest Colorado Spruces, so they're usually awarded a special place in the landscape being put to work as specimens and accents since they're great at begging for attention. Here we see some P. pungens 'Bizon Blue'. They'll slowly grow to about 35' in a conical shape. The needles will maintain their blue color throughout the year.
Plant them in full sun in a place with excellent drainage and they'll be happy for years to come. Use as stand alone specimens or combine with other contrasting Conifers and Ornamental Grasses for added interest.

Watertown Picks!

Agastache x 'Bolero'
Agastache x 'Bolero'
Stop in for a stellar selection of perennials like these Anise Hyssop (Agastache), Daylilies (Hemerocallis), Bee Balm (Monarda) plus a great selection of Bigleaf Hydrangeas including Endless Summer, Glowing Embers and Twist N Shout all in full, beautiful bloom.

Agastache is a great plant for full sun. The leaves have a spicy-minty scent much like licorice and the butterflies love the bright, long-lasting flowers. Check out the variety 'Black Adder' as well which has blue-violet flower spikes. Zone 6
