Which One is That? |
 | Cityline Mars Hydrangea |
We currently have three of these compact Bigleaf Hydrangeas available - Mars, Rio and Venice. Even though the plants stay small (1-3'), the flowers are very large on sturdy stems making them a perfect solution for your summer containers in partial shade. The foliage is thick, glossy and dark. Definitely check them out! (Leaf mulch is recommended to protect flower buds for the following year) Zone 5 |

Rudbeckia hirta
Biennial Black-eyed Susan, Gloriosa Daisy
 | Rudbeckia hirta in full bud! |
Take advantage of the full season ahead with these long-blooming biennial Black-eyed Susans which are at their pre-bloom peak - the perfect time for adding punch to your sunny perennial and mixed borders, containers and patio plantings. They average about 24" tall and have large, very showy daisy-like flowers ranging from yellow to gold to rust. They are also drought tolerant, deer resistant and attract butterflies and birds. As biennials they complete their life cycle in two years, flowering their second year. They will likely not come up next year, but if left to go to seed you will find a succession of volunteers for years to come - and that also makes them a real nice addition to any meadow/field plantings. They combine well with Daylilies, ornamental grasses, Anise Hyssop, Catnip, Russian Sage to name a few. Choose from these three cultivars: 'Autumn Colors', 'Denver Daisy' and 'Indian Summer'. They will be in full bloom any minute now - and will continue through the fall! |
