False Indigo
Baptisia closeup
Baptisia australis
Growing 3-4' high x 4' wide this shrublike perennial is a wonderful addition to the spring border adding bright green foliage throughout the season and indigo blue flowers in June. Grows nicely in part shade but for flowering site them in some sun. Once established it is quite drought tolerant. Black seed pods develop and add interest later in the season however, shearing the whole plant after flowering by one third will keep it tidy so no need for staking.

Roses in Watertown
Roses in Watertown

There's a lot to look at in Watertown including tons of budded and blooming perennials, a nice selection of Roses (seen here) plus the summer flowering Japanese Snowbell (Styrax japonica) just coming into bloom - a small rounded tree with hanging bell-shaped white flowers - great for a small property or near a patio!

Deciduous Azaleas Looking Good

Here'a a pair of fragrant later blooming Azaleas that can fit into any garden. Azalea viscosum 'Pink and Sweet' on the left and Azalea 'Lollipop' on the right. Both are deciduous, both are pink, both are fragrant and both have great fall color. So what are their differences? Not much except 'Pink and Sweet' is a native Swamp Azalea and is perfect for evenly moist soils and 'Lollipop' is a Weston Hybrid showing good mildew resistance.

Consider either one for your next job - they have a lot to offer!
