Cornelian Cherry

Cornus mas - Deserving of more attention!

Cornus mas

An under-used, early spring bloomer - Cornelian Cherry

Here's a subtle, yet eye catching tree that says spring is on its way! Cornelian Cherry is a small, low-branching tree that will fit into any landscape giving early interest that lasts for weeks. The yellow flowers are born in clusters and are very showy at a time when most plants are still waking up! Even when this tree is not in flower it has beautiful exfoliating bark giving it year-round interest. A nice idea near a front walkway.

Come take a look at our fresh stock of Cornus mas that are just coming into flower. It is a tree that could justifiably  be used more often! Learn more from UCONN's Plant Database.

-Thanks Mark!
