A YULETIDE TALE FOR OUR CUSTOMERS
Chuck remembers back to his landscaping days delivering live Christmas trees. One such delivery was of a 10/12' Douglas Fir:
"Ball must've weighed a good 250 pounds or more... and the lady wanted it up on the back deck. We didn't have a liftgate, of course. I don't know how the heck the two of us got it off the truck. In those days part of the deal was that we would come back after Christmas and plant all the trees we delivered, so we were used to maneuvering the trees to their temporary holiday homes, but this staircase was something else. Endless. Somehow we got it down and then dragged it all the way up, I guess on planks. We were untying it when out she came onto the deck-WITH A SAW. No!! Don't tell us you're going to cut it?! Yes, she said, innocently. Then why on earth didn't you have us cut it on the truck?!!"
Her answer? You guessed it: "I wanted it as fresh as possible!" |
Ready for the Holidays?
After almost selling out of greens last week we've decided to replenish our stock so hurry over while there is a good selection available of holiday wreaths and swags. Some of the wreaths are naturally decorated with colorful evergreens in beautiful combinations and others are plain fragrant balsam.
Available now:

Assorted swags
Balsam Roping - one 30' left
Don't wait - the holidays are fast approaching!

Specials of the Week
- 'Emerald Green' & 'Dark American' Arborvitae - 20% off!
- B&B Specialty Evergreens* now 40% off !
Don't miss out on these specials from the common to the unusual! Good old 'Emerald Green' and Dark American Arbs are useful in so many applications and the larger B&B grafted conifers make great accent or focal points like this Templehof Japanese White Pine. Growing about 10' in 10 years it has a slow-medium rate of growth and is long lived - often to 100 years or more. The steel blue, fine textured foliage and its ability to produce cones at an early age are it's best attributes. Plant in full sun in well drained soil. Hardy to Zone 5a.
Check out the others (ie. Spanish Fir, Fastigiate Blue Atlas Cedar, Weeping Alaskan Cedars...) or call for availability.
Plus these Continued Specials:
- A selection of container evergreens 50% off, no tagging
- All B&B Japanese Maples now 40% (Includes all B&B, container and Specimen Boxed Japanese Maples!)
- All Magnolia 20% off!
- All Fruit Trees 10 & 15 gallon - 30% off
