Belly Fat and Coffee...

No I am not again suggesting that you go out and try that green coffee thing! :o)  Instead I am passing along something that we got today in the mail...an ad no less!

Yep, it was an ad promoting a new book by the good doctors Oz and Roizen.  Now these two guys know their stuff and I am sure their new book is really, really interesting!  You see they provide a few eye catchers to get you hooked on sending off for their book of shared knowledge concerning losing weight and keeping it off.

One such hook deals with coffee...here is how it goes:

Surprise:  Coffee is actually one of the healthiest beverages out there, the doctors explain.  And it could actually help you trim down!

For one thing coffee is America's number one source of antioxidants-natural plant compounds that promote health and reduce internal inflammation, which is a major cause of obesity.

Here's an even bigger surprise:  Coffee is actually a source of fiber!  You don't sense it, but careful research shows that a 12 ounce cup of brewed coffee contains an average of 1.8 grams of valuable soluble fiber.  Fiber helps you feel full longer and is great in the A.M. to help you resist snack attacks in the P.M.

BRAIN ON, APPETITE OFF!!

Now, that is all contained in the very attractive info piece on the book, You Losing Weight.  You will have to decide if you want to buy the book to find out the full skinny on this...you never know what you might read if you do...you know!?!

Still have not heard what happened with the other doctors I wrote about last month...don't reckon' it will get much media coverage outside of Texas beyond those somewhat misleading headlines! :o) Funny how that works sometimes...

On another subject...slick transition, huh?  We are beginning to prepare for the upcoming shows we (The Alpaca Bean Coffee Co, and Walnut Knoll Farm) will attend and have a booth... or alpacas...or both.  Cannot wait to see a number of old friends, and young ones as well!  We know we will most likely be at the Georgia Fiber Fest, SAFF, possibly the Ag Expo again, the Georgia show (The Royal Alpaca Challenge), and perhaps the VAOBA show before the end of the year.  At this point in time it is somewhat difficult to look beyond that point...you see, we will also be supporting our community this September as our county in Georgia (Hart) celebrates the AG community within our county and the areas nearby...we also will be hosting our community here at the farm the last weekend of the month of September celebrating National Alpaca Farm Day, and finally we will be opening our farm and coffee roasting business the first weekend of December as we all celebrate the special season of Christmas together!  Hope to see you at one or many of these events.

'Til next time...

On A Personal Note:

You ever hear someone say, "Man, I am flat tuckered?"  Or maybe "I feel like this ol' world has sucked the everlastin' life out of me today!"  Or...if you have not lived on the farm for long, maybe something like, "I am really, really exhausted and I do not see how I can make it up to bed tonight..."

Why do we feel this way from time to time?  How did we let ourselves get caught up on the treadmill called life without a switch to flip to the OFF mode???  You know this happens to everyone of us, especially those that care for and are caring of others.  Special folks tend to continue to reach out to others even when they need to be reaching a point of rekindling for themselves.  Yep, sometimes we do not understand that if we are not taking care of ourselves, both mentally and physically, we might tend to internalize another's negative state as our own...then transfer it on to still others.

The Coffeeman is "way not special", so maybe I am not normal in these respects...you see my tension comes from within while realizing that others are doing their best to do their best, but still bugging the caffeine out of me!  What I am saying is that you and I need to sit a spell...this can best be done while sipping on a mug of The Alpaca Bean Coffee...but lacking that...we still need to step back, take a deep intake of O and then breath out ever so slowly...now don't we feel better?  What do you mean you do not feel better???!!!! Woops, there I go again trying to get into your very soul...knowing that it is your soul and only you know its condition or anything else about it!

Soon will be a good time to take advantage of a gift given to us by our favorite university or college...FOOTBALL!!!  Now, there is a tension builder and instant tension release as well!  Let's all make a deal...once the weather cools, the grass growth rate slows, and the pigskin starts flyin'...we will STOP whatever we are doing at least two times each month to enjoy the most important, unimportant thing taking place on a Saturday...FOOTBALL!!  Now, you can do this in front of the fifty yard line, in front of your TV, or simply in front of your trusty radio...but make a promise to yourself that you will take that time...turn the volume down if you really aren't into football and read a good book, The Good Book, or any other book, but promise to spend the time you need to recharge...be it on a Saturday or each day of the week.

For one, I am gonna try...mug in hand...to recharge so I will have the energy to recognize the beauty of folks doing their best to do their best...sometimes so I can as well!

Peace,

The Coffeeman
