Announcing the Bike Austin Education Fund

Bike Austin is proud to officially announce the formation of
our sister organization: The Bike Austin Education Fund.
This exciting new group will soon be offering hundreds of free bicycle education classes to largely under-served communities throughout Austin, thanks to a major grant from the Texas Department of Transportation.
To kick things off this month, our network of certified cycling safety instructors and volunteers, including Robert Turner, Janis Connell, Scott Jenney, Tomasita Ligons, Camille Baptist and Preston Tyree, trained over 500 Capital Metro and UT bus drivers on responsibly sharing the road with bicyclists. Bus drivers for Capital Metro and the University of Texas take their jobs extremely seriously, and Bike Austin is proud to support them in implementing best practices to protect the safety of everyone on the street - especially pedestrians and bicyclists. Want to support even more free bicycle education in Austin? Make a donation today.

Join People For Bikes
If a butterfly's wing can affect change around the world, the collective stories, elbow grease and grit of America's bicycle advocacy groups can mold our concrete jungles into bike-able, walkable paradises. Few National bike groups do as much to elevate these stories and efforts, and make real change for a bike-friendly America, as People for Bikes. Consider joining their ranks to lend your voice to the national bike movement. It's free!
