ecobeco and our healthy home division, Breathe Easy Home, have opened our first office in Delaware. We are now offering our energy efficiency services and healthy home improvements in the entire Washington, D.C. and Baltimore metro areas, including the District of Columbia; Montgomery, Prince George's, Howard, and Baltimore counties, and parts of Frederick County in Maryland; Fairfax and Arlington counties in Virginia, and now also New Castle County, Delaware.

Takoma Park Councilmember Kate Stewart scheduled a Home Energy Audit with ecobeco. The energy audit was performed by ecobeco Cofounder Reuven Walder, who walked Stewart through some of the tests ecobeco performs to determine a home's energy efficiency. Then, ecobeco made recommendations to improve energy savings, comfort and health.

Have you heard about the Neighborhood Energy Challenge? To encourage and reward residents for implementing significant energy improvements to their homes such as insulation, air sealing, and appliance replacements, Takoma Park is offering residents incentives.

The city is offering 25 percent of the cost up to $500 for any energy-saving measure, specifically recommended by a certified energy auditor in a comprehensive energy audit report. Plus, the neighborhood team with the highest participation and energy reductions will win $2,000 for the team, which they can use for a variety of community-enhancing projects such as new community gardens, wheeled recycling bins, or to help neighbors in need.

Are leaky twisted monsters lurking in your attic, eating up your energy bills and making your home uncomfortable?
 
 
Attics can be creepy places. We get it - you probably don't even want to think about what's up there lurking in the dark. But if you are concerned about comfort issues and high energy bills, knowing about the ducts in your attic is incredibly important. Home Improvement Rebates Increase to $2,500-$4,300

ecobeco is an award winning provider of Home Performance with ENERGY STAR - a partner program with Pepco, BG&E, and Potomac Edison in Maryland.
 
Working with us qualifies you for home improvement rebates, currently 50 percent of your improvement cost up to $2,500 (restrictions apply). This change was made by the Maryland Public Service Commission to encourage deeper energy savings and to promote the benefits of sealing leaky air ducts.

As of May 2015, rebates up to $2,000 are available for air sealing and insulation only, while $2,500 is available if your improvements include sealing air ducts.

Add to that cash rebates for upgrading your HVAC equipment, and you could end up with a total of $4,300 in rebates after all your work is done.

The air inside can be 2-5 times more polluted 
 
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, "In the last several years, a growing body of scientific evidence has indicated that the air within homes and other buildings can be more seriously polluted than the outdoor air even in the largest and most industrialized cities."
