NEW: Introducing Breathe Easy Home
Home improvements for allergies, asthma, and better health

After a year of planning, Reuven and I are excited to announce our new division, Breathe Easy Home. You probably know someone with asthma. You probably have someone in your household with allergies. About 20% of the US population suffers from these illnesses. While we rely on our doctors to give us medicines that reduce the symptoms of these inconvenient (and sometimes disabling) illnesses, we still don't feel as well as we would like. We can help.

Just as you wouldn't give peanuts to an allergic child, science tells us that removing airborne allergens such as pollen, dust mites, or pet dander from our direct environment reduces the frequency, severity and duration of respiratory illnesses. Removing allergens, pollutants and particles helps us live healthier, longer, and happier lives.  You'll feel better with healthier air.

The work that we have been doing in energy efficiency over the past seven years turns out to be an integral part of making homes healthier places to live. A tight building envelope, enhanced insulation levels, humidity controls, filtering indoor and outdoor air, and ensuring strong air flow in homes are important structural improvements that lay the foundations for a healthy home.

Visit www.breatheeasyhome.com to learn more about who we can help, how it works, and why it works. If you want to talk more, Schedule a Free Consultation with one of our certified Healthy Home Specialists. If this doesn't pique your interest, please forward this newsletter to your neighbors. Also, Breathe Easy Home will have its own, separate newsletter, so please sign up by hitting the "subscribe" button at the top of any www.breatheeasyhome.com page.

Thank you for supporting ecobeco and our new division, Breathe Easy Home.

Insulation
Enjoy a comfortable, energy efficient home all year

Summer is on its way. Likely this means your home will be cool downstairs and hot upstairs, with a leaky attic. That means uneven temperatures and high energy bills.

How do you make your home more comfortable and energy efficient? You may need better insulation. Insulation: It's a summer thing, too.

humidity

Not too dry, and not too humid. Following these simple guidelines in your home can go a long way to improving your health.

Homeowners are familiar with the struggles of keeping indoor air comfortable, especially during the dry winter months and hot soggy summers. Thankfully, when it comes to comfort and health, you can have it both ways.
World

World Allergy Week was last month, drawing attention to the human and economic burden of airway allergies. Did you know that your home may contribute to the growing rates of asthma and allergies?

400 million people will suffer from asthma by the year 2025 unless something is done to slow current trends, according to a statement from the World Allergy Organization. Of the 300 million people currently suffering from asthma, 80 percent experience allergic rhinitis, according to estimates from the World Health Organization (WHO).

Formaldehyde

The nation's largest retailer of hardwood flooring has been selling products that can make us sick, according to a CBS "60 Minutes" investigation.

The investigation found exceedingly high levels of formaldehyde in Lumber Liquidator's widely distributed laminate flooring.

The story with Lumber Liquidators is complicatedAnd the company responded to the allegations. But since the company came under fire in March, new reports point to a larger issue.

This is not a one-off story. Toxic chemicals enter our homes in many different ways, and formaldehyde is a real issue.
