We're kicking off the fall season with tons of exciting activities, including adult workshops, children's story times, and much much more! 

Also, don't forget to celebrate Banned Books Week from Sept. 25 to Oct. 1 by visiting the library and requesting to read some of these banned classics!
 
The Library is pleased to announce the following changes to our loan periods:
 
New DVD/BluRay Movies - 3 days
DVD/BluRay Movies - 7 days
All DVD/BluRay TV Series - 7 days
New books - 14 days
Audiobooks, music CDs, magazines - 14 Days
All other circulating books - 28 days
 
There are no changes to late fees/fines.
 
The  Friends of the Rockaway Township Library are excited to announce our upcoming October book sale:

Friday, Oct 14: Sneak Preview 6 pm - 8 pm ($10 charge)
Saturday, Oct 15: 9 pm - 5 pm
Sunday, Oct 16: 1 pm - 3 pm ($5 for a bag of books)

The library will be accepting donations of gently used books inside the lower level of the library from September 15 through October 7.

We are NOT accepting:
Encyclopedias,  Textbooks, Reader's Digest or other magazines, Condensed Novels, Audio Cassettes, VHS Tapes, Computer / Health Books Published Before 2013 or Materials in Poor Shape.

Teens in grades 7-12 who need community service hours this fall can fulfill those requirements at the library.

If you are interested in preparing crafts, pulling books, cleaning toys, boxing up books, and doing other small but necessary tasks, please email Darlene Steinhart at darlene.steinhart@rtlibrary.org about setting up a time to come in and volunteer.

We appreciate all of our volunteer help.

100 Years of our National Parks

The National Park Service (NPS) will officially turn 100 years old on August 25, 2016. Join Dr. Jude M. Pfister, Chief of Cultural Resources at the Morristown National Historical Park, as he presents a program looking at the Centennial of the NPS, and of how the NPS entered into the field of historic preservation.

Bring your lunch and join us for the Lunchtime Book Club. We meet at Rockaway Township Library on the third Tuesday afternoon each month from 11:45am - 1:00pm. Shh...we even have a secret cookbook club selection each month.

Registration is not required: you are welcome to join us for any discussion.  The Library obtains copies of each month's selection which are then borrowed by book club members.

Second Tuesday of Each Month
6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

The BookChat group meets at the Rockaway Township Public Library, downstairs in the meeting room. We read popular fiction, non-fiction and memoir. New members are always welcome. Library copies of each title are provided to BookChat members when possible.
