We hope that you have been enjoying the beauty of the winter season. Blizzards offer us the opportunity to cuddle up with a good book after a hard day of digging out our homes. If you are looking for a great book to read, please visit us and we'll help you find something to rave about.

Join the Friends of the Library
Join or renew your membership today
The Friends of the Rockaway Township Library is a group of volunteers who help to raise funds to support the Rockaway Township library and the programs which it offers. With the recent downturn in the economy and recent budget cuts the Friends aim to help the continuance of the excellent and varied programs which the library presents.
The Friends are always looking for new faces and new ideas for fund raising and we invite you to join us. We meet on the third Friday of the month at 10am in the meeting room. |

Join Our Library Book Clubs
Discuss books with other literary and library lovers
RT Library Lunchtime BookClub
Third Tuesday of the month
11:45 am - 1:00 pm
Bring your lunch and join us for the Lunchtime Book Club. We meet at Rockaway Township Library on the third Tuesday afternoon each month from 11:45am - 1:00pm. Shh...we even have a secret cookbook club selection each month.
Registration is not required: you are welcome to join us for any discussion. The Library obtains copies of each month's selection which are then borrowed by book club members.
Our February 16 selection is The Invention of Wings by Sue Monk Kidd
RT Library BookChatSecond Tuesday of Each Month 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm The BookChat group meets at the Rockaway Township Public Library, downstairs in the meeting room. We read popular fiction, non-fiction and memoir. New members are always welcome. Library copies of each title are provided to BookChat members when possible.

Donate on Your NJ Tax Form
Support Your Local Library By Donating On Your New Jersey Tax Form
Help support New Jersey's public libraries by donating to the Local Library Support Fund on your New Jersey tax form.
How to Donate:
On your New Jersey Income Tax form, on Line 64, "Other Designated Contributions," enter code number 20 for the Local Library Support Fund and the amount you would like to contribute. The amount you donate will reduce your refund or increase your balance due.
How will your donation help?
Funds will be distributed annually by the State Librarian to county and municipal libraries in accordance with State Library Aid Law.
Libraries may use the funds to support library purposes, including:
* Purchasing books for children, teens and adults
* Summer Reading program materials and events
* Early literacy materials
* Salaries for staff, including those working evenings and weekends

Teen Volunteers Wanted
Community Service Hours available
Teens in grades 7-12 who need community service hours can fulfill those requirements at the library.
If you are interested in preparing crafts, pulling books, cleaning toys, boxing up books, and doing other small but necessary tasks, please email Darlene Steinhart at darlene.steinhart@rtlibrary.org about setting up a time to come in and volunteer.
We appreciate all of our volunteer help.
