Spring 2015 Programs for Children & Teens
Step Into a Story
April 1 - April 30
At Participating Libraries

In celebration of Children's Book Week, the Morris Area Youth Services Committee (MAYS) presents: Step into A Story/

Each participating M.A.I.N. library has decorated a section of their children's space to represent a favorite children's story. Patrons will have the opportunity to visit such stories as "Everything Harry Potter" at the Rockaway Township Library, "The Day the Crayons Quit" at the Wharton Library, step into the world of "Curious George" at the Montville Library, and battle the gods with Percy Jackson at the Long Hill Library!  At each participating library patrons can enter to win a fun prize. The more libraries you visit, the better your chances of winning!

Step Into a Story: Harry Potter
April 28 | 4:00 PM - 5:30
Grades 3 - 7

Special event with butter beer, chocolate covered wands, balloon animals, craft activities, trivia contest and house buttons! Someone will win a chocolate frog!

Lego Club
May 2, May 30, June 27, July 25 & August 22 | 10:00 AM
Ages 5 and Up. Registration Required.

Like Lego? Our Lego Club is moving to Saturdays at 10:00 AM in the Summer. Come join the fun! Registration required. Stop in or call 973-627-2344.

Minecraft Expo
May 12 | 4:00 - 5:30

Bring your own device with Minecraft installed or take turns playing on our X-box. Crafts and Snacks will be available. Trade tips on game play. Registration required. Stop in or call 973-627-2344.

Programs will begin June 29 and run for 6 weeks.

Touch of Sinatra

A musical show about the life and music of Frank Sinatra narrated by Joe Gilligan and Sinatra songs are performed by Donnie Fararro. You will be entertained with the story of the life and the songs that made him one of the most renowned singers of the 20th century. Celebrate 100 years of Sinatra!

Solutions for College Funding, Inc presents a College Funding Seminar for parents of high school students interested in college. The purpose of this seminar is to educate parents on how to provide funding for their high-schooler's college tuition and other expenses and to minimize their out of pocket expenses.

Senior Scams

Whether it's through the phone, via Internet, or that too-good-to-be-true investment opportunity, scams have never been more prevalent than they are today. You don't have to be a senior to fall victim to fraud, but seniors are often the targets of scammers and con artists. Hedy Knapp from Paperwork Partners will talk about some of the most common scams and how you can avoid getting duped.

We welcome new computer users to sign up for our Computer Basics series. We kick off with our back to back Computer Basics 1 [mousercise] on 3/25 @ 10am, break for lunch and continue with Computer Basics 2 at 1pm, Internet Basics* (4/1), and E-mail Basics* (4/8).
