Welcoming Our New Staff: Scott, Pierre, & Kyle
|
There have been lots of exciting changes at the Rockaway Township Library. The Library is pleased to announce that Scott Davan, formally the Director of the Mt. Olive Public Library, was appointed Director of the Rockaway Township Library in December of last year. Mr. Davan comes to Rockaway with over 12 years of combined experience in both public and special libraries. While at the Mt. Olive Public Library Mr. Davan was able to overcome many of the financial obstacles that libraries face today; having found creative solutions to decreased funding all with minimal impact on services.
The Library is also excited to announce the hiring of Pierre Rosen as the new Head of Reference and Information Technology. Pierre was the Adult Services Coordinator at the Oakland Public Library in Bergen County for over two years before joining us in Rockaway. Pierre earned his Masters in Library and Information Science from Rutgers University with a specialization in digital libraries. He also attended Villanova University for his Juris Doctor degree and Washington University in St. Louis for his undergraduate degree. As a librarian, Pierre enjoys helping our community find the information and knowledge they seek to make their lives enjoyable and rewarding. Pierre is looking forward to help connect Rockaway's business community with high quality resources, such as free access to paywalled journal articles (Harvard Business Review & Nature) and free commercial mailing lists through ReferenceUSA.
We would also like to formally announce that Kyle Craig joined the Reference Department this past May as a Reference Librarian. He comes to us from the Chicago Heights Public Library as a Reference Librarian. Kyle earned his Masters in Library Science at Dominican University in River Forest, IL and his degree in Marketing from The Ohio State University. Kyle is still getting used to the east coast, especially the massive quantities of snow, but is enjoying what New Jersey has to offer like hiking, skiing, and proximity to NYC. He has enjoyed getting to know the people of the Rockaway area during the past few months.
