photo-collage to give her stories - and Mother Goose's - a fresh look. Is it any wonder that Ezra is a source of inspiration? Read what she says about Over in the Meadow.

Keats's love of nature takes center stage in his setting of the old counting rhyme Over in the Meadow. Springtime has never looked more joyful!

Dear Friends,

Over in the Meadow, with Ezra's spectacular pictures illuminating a lovely, familiar poem, is our featured book for March. We think of this book as spring approaches because the images evoke the excitement of new life returning to the parks, gardens and lakes around us that bees, frogs, fireflies and bluebirds call home.

The month of March, if you are a public school teacher or librarian, also brings the EJK Minigrant application deadline. There is typically a rush of last-minute submissions as the deadline nears, but there is even more of a crunch this season, as many of you are contending with heavy workloads and heavy weather. To ease the load a bit, we're moving the last date for proposal submission to March 30 (the deadline is usually March 15). We hope the extra time means you won't miss out.

Before the first day of spring and the new Minigrant deadline, we are looking forward to March 11. This year, it's Ezra's 98th birthday! If your class has a celebration for him, please send us pictures that we can post on Facebook and Twitter.

Enjoy the beginning of spring!

Sincerely,

Executive Director

Ezra Jack Keats Foundation

MINIGRANT ALERT: The 2014 deadline is extended to March 30.
