Digest #126

Here's the news you need to know this week.

With their most recent product update, Looker has announced that now "all decision-makers, not just a handful of data scientists, can utilize the valuable data in Hadoop to drive better business decisions." Digital NEST's grand opening and ribbon cutting last week also had a poignant memorial for the first student to ever walk through the NEST's classroom doors. Any skate-tech geeks out there? There's a whole lot of engineering that goes into Inboard's M1 product. The Apps for Ag hackathon is coming our way to help solve problems for growers in the Pajaro and Salinas Valleys. Startup Challenge Monterey Bay is also coming up. And, because it's so simple -- and surprising that there's nothing similar available to the public -- my favorite article this week is about a google doc list of local companies that hire tech created by one organized job hunter, and he welcomes your additions.

All this and more. Scroll down and start reading! (And, as always, if I've missed something newsworthy, please let me know.)
